I had preoperative orthodontic treatment at the ㅍㄹㄴㅁ Dental Clinic at Exit 11 of Gangnam Station in 2019 (a hospital I was referred to after visiting Jet Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery). Until now, I have not been able to visit the clinic for a long period of time due to my intention, and I have been busy here and there, so I have had preoperative orthodontic treatment for almost 5 years. However, the correction period became considerably longer. Last year, I decided to have surgery and looked into Western medicine hospitals, but all of them pointed out the insufficiencies in orthodontic treatment. Afterwards, additional orthodontics is in progress to hurriedly push the lower teeth back and open up space for the front teeth. I would like to write reviews and experiences of hospitals I have visited so far. 1. Professor ㄱㅈㅅ, Konkuk University Hospital.   - He is a first-generation orthodontic professor and the first professor in Korea to perform chin tip (double osteotomy) advancement surgery. He  gave me the most detailed and lengthy consultation of all the hospitals I have been to since . (However, the consultation fee is 100,000 won, which is a bit expensive.) As expected from a professor who was known to be quite conservative at the Naver Railroad Cafe, he spoke conservatively. The correction I am doing is not suitable for surgery, so there are some shortcomings in correction. In addition, I want to remove more of my lower jaw, but I need to extract additional teeth, but I don't have enough teeth to even extract them. Therefore, they say that they cannot provide good or bad treatment. 2. Professor J from Chung-Ang University   - Unlike Professor J, he was more enterprising and proactive in explaining the surgical plan. (A little surprising) My case is not typical, so ASO is not possible and only two jaws are available. Since I need to remove more of my lower jaw than others, I am now extracting 2 additional lower teeth and closing the space with orthodontic treatment (it takes 2 years). After that, I will expand my lower jaw to its maximum. They say that a total of two implants are installed, one behind each molar, and that the upper jaw is rotated counterclockwise and pulled out slightly forward (probably to secure airway space). However, in my case, it is a protrusion due to the development of the upper jaw, and the upper jaw is removed. I was a little puzzled. Anyway, Professor J said that the protrusion will not get worse even if it is removed (it seems that the technical part is involved as it rotates), but I gave up because I felt the burden of additional extractions and it was too difficult to spend an additional 2 years of lottery when the pre-treatment period is still long. . Also, the idea of moving the upper jaw forward was a bit disturbing. The professor himself seemed to plan the surgery well. He also checked the joints by pressing the chin with his hand and seemed to be in good condition as rumored. 3. Wiz Dental Clinic   - Dr. A is famous on YouTube. Like Professor A, this person is also a first generation Western medicine doctor and is quite conservative. The consultation is relatively simple and ends with just one X-ray. This is the first thing I learned here: my airway is much narrower than others. The director looked at the X-ray picture and said that on the basis of his conscience as a doctor, he would not be able to perform this surgery. They told me that if I got double jaw surgery in my case, my airway would become narrower, which would lead to sleep apnea and significant side effects as I got older. <-- I was a bit shocked here. This was the first time I noticed that my airway was narrow, and my upper and lower airways were all narrow. In addition, the two teeth on top had already been extracted (due to lack of extraction space) during the missionary procedure, so ASO was already an option. Orthognathic decision impossible. I was quite depressed when I came home that day. I wonder if the upper teeth should not have been extracted during the surgical correction, and that ASO should have been considered to put it in the mouth since the airway is narrow. Up to this point, two of the three places above have judged me as unsuitable for orthognathic surgery. And I also clearly recognize that this case is more difficult than others. Narrow airway, severe mandibular dwarfism, and protruding mouth due to underdeveloped maxilla. However, I am now 30 years old, and during my school days, I was teased for a year for my protruding mouth and receding chin, and was publicly shamed. After becoming an adult, I heard the same things in the military, and being belittled for my appearance became a daily routine, and the only thing I needed was surgery. I couldn't give up here because I had persevered so far with just the determination to do it. Despite the frustration, I continue to go to counseling. 4. Allso Dental Clinic   - I went here because it had good reviews. I received it from Director ㄱㅁㅅ. My first impression was that the facility was pretty clean and the equipment looked good. The result is that the surgery itself is not impossible, but the airway is so narrow that it is almost impossible to insert the upper jaw. They asked me where I had been at other hospitals, so I told them, and they gave me a brief assessment of whether I knew them well or not, and I was a little surprised when they told me that I thought I went to Chung-Ang University in the wrong place. The director said that Chung-Ang University is not a university hospital but a general private hospital, but I don't know if that's true. Surgery can be done, but the protrusion will not be improved much, but the lower jaw will be better than now and the overall appearance will be improved compared to now. However, it is important! The improvement in protruding input showed a difference from the result I wanted. The consultation time was long, they answered my questions in detail, looked at me face to face and talked to me, and the consultation itself was pretty good. As with previous hospitals, there were some shortcomings in correction, so additional correction was recommended. Perhaps, if the improvement in overhanging input had met expectations, it would have been chosen here. 5. Jet Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery   - The director is the hospital that I first visited 5 years ago and recommended Missionary Hospital, which is where I am currently working. The director here does not charge a consultation fee every time I go, and there is no head of counseling, so the director provides direct consultation each time. I also had an impacted wisdom tooth extracted here 5 years ago before starting orthodontic treatment, and his skills are quite outstanding. Originally, I decided to get orthodontic treatment here and did a missionary study, but when the time came to consider surgery, I wanted to check out various hospitals, so I didn't choose this place and visited several hospitals. They haven't promoted it at all, so honestly, I still don't know what cases there are and how they are handled. However, the consultation was good and the wisdom tooth extraction skills were excellent. I met another patient who had surgery here through the Naver Railroad Cafe and he said he was satisfied with the results. However, since he had a grade 3 malocclusion (a misaligned jaw), it was a completely different case from mine, so it was just a reference. They answered all my questions, the consultation itself was pretty good, and the consultation fee was the cheapest here. However, I did not ultimately choose this place (although it is not yet confirmed?) The reason is that I was introduced to the orthodontic clinic where I am currently performing orthodontics, but I found out later that the director of the orthodontic clinic was not an orthodontic specialist (maybe because he studied at a foreign university). Also, I was not very satisfied with the orthodontic treatment. At the time of my first visit to Jet, I was recommended orthodontic treatment rather than ASO, but I also thought that if it was a case where I could not do orthodontic treatment due to a narrow airway, I should have considered ASO as well. I asked about this during my subsequent visit to the hospital, and he said that it was true that the airway was narrow, but that he could do double jaw surgery. I still don't know who is right, but what is certain is that all other places said that the current correction was insufficient and therefore not suitable for immediate surgery, but Jet said that immediate surgery was possible. My trust dropped a bit here, and I had a lot of concerns since it was the first hospital I went to, but I gave up. 6. Force You Dental Clinic   - Director ㅇㅅㅈ. It boasts the most expensive surgery fee among the hospitals I've been to so far (starting at 1500). I was most satisfied with the consultation here. First, the director? (He says he's a nurse, but I don't know exactly) gave consultation, and then the director. He said that the employee's nephew also had surgery here. He showed me before and after X-ray photos and gave a detailed explanation. He also explained where the current correction was lacking. (Where the occlusal surface is insufficient, etc.) They also explain by showing the predicted values using a 3D program (Opecura?) and also explain in 3D why surgery right now will not be enough. And this is the only place where they make a PPT-like file showing how the patient has changed before and after the surgery and send it to the orthodontist to ask them what to do after the surgery. I was very satisfied with the consultation and had confidence in it. They said it was true that my case needed surgery, but since there were some shortcomings in correction, they felt it was unfortunate that they could not achieve the maximum through surgery, so they told me to come back with additional correction and filled out a medical treatment request form. Fortunately, it was fortunate that they said they would not do surgery, and the consultation itself was most satisfying. 7. Iyu Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery   - Director ㄱㅈㅇ. It is a hospital that is famous on YouTube and has quite a few reviews. It was difficult to make a reservation, and this was the only place where you had to pay a reservation fee (they said it was because of no-shows), and if you decided on surgery, you had to pay an advance deposit of 200,000 won... The hospital itself seemed to be busy, perhaps because there were a lot of people. While other hospitals were a bit quiet, this place was a bit quieter. It seemed the busiest (I don't know if it was because he went last), but it seemed like after one person finished the consultation, they would move on to the next person. Because of this, I had some doubts about whether one-on-one customized care would actually be provided to patients. The explanation was quite concise, and the waiting time before the consultation with the director was about 30 minutes, but he said he was late because he had to look at my x-ray and make a plan. There are some parts that I don't like and don't like, but the director himself explained it clearly. (Broadly divided into 3 categories: protruding face, long face, and short chin) And when I ask questions, it seems like he answers everything? It was a shame that I couldn't ask many questions because he seemed busy. Oh, and I saw him with his mask down, but he didn't take it off completely to check, which was also a bit disappointing. I also asked about the small airway space, but he showed me other surgical cases and said it was okay as there was almost no change in the upper airway before and after the surgery. I wasn't completely satisfied with the consultation, but I wasn't dissatisfied either. It just seemed like a bit of a waste of time. They also said they would introduce me to a philtrum reduction hospital that is good at making philtrums look longer after surgery, but I'm not sure. This place has a lot of reviews and it seems like a lot of people look at it aesthetically, so even though I'm not 100% satisfied with the consultation itself, I'm still drawn to it. First, I decided on this hospital because of the many reviews and aesthetics, but I am still looking for other hospitals. The above is roughly what I remember. I'm currently undergoing correction and will probably have surgery within 3 months, so I'll write about it later. I uploaded a photo of my business card as evidence. (Wiz didn't bring his business card because he got cut too quickly haha)>

I went to Chung-Ang University and Konkuk University, but Konkuk University is not good ㅠ Chung-Ang University takes a long time and is too risky.. But Seoul National University is too expensive because it costs over 3,000 ㅠ

Chung-Ang University and Konkuk University are not university hospitals!ㅠㅠ In Seoul, only Seoul National University, Kyunghee University, and Yonsei University have real dental hospitals.
