I was worried about my facial asymmetry, so I had orthodontic treatment in the past, but I was told that it would not improve without double jaw surgery, so I looked for a hospital for double jaw surgery, and I felt that oral and maxillofacial surgery was safer and more professional than plastic surgery,
so I searched for the YouTube channel of the Y Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Dental Clinic, Gangnam Unnie's blog, and decided to have double jaw surgery, square jaw, and front jaw surgery, made a reservation, and had the surgery on August 19th.
The interior of the hospital was also very new, and what I liked the most was that Director Lee Seok-jae answered my questions one-on-one and took thorough care of me. ㅎㅎ
I visited the hospital with the supplies that the director sent me in the KakaoTalk message. When the director carefully sets the surgery schedule, he tells me everything from the supplies to the care method. ㅎㅎ (Pumpkin porridge, sauce container, neck pillow, etc.)
On the day of the surgery (8.19),
I had existing orthodontic treatment, so I arrived 30 minutes earlier than the scheduled surgery time to have the braces removed.
Before the surgery, I listened to the director's explanation of the design and improvement direction one last time, and then had the surgery.
The surgery took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. Since it was the first day, I think I didn’t feel pain but rather felt it was difficult.
On
the second day of the surgery (8.20),
nurses were present at the hospital at intervals throughout the morning to check my blood pressure and look after my condition, so I was admitted to the hospital with peace of mind without any discomfort. Starting from the second day, the catheter was removed, so I felt better than the first day. ㅎㅎ On the third
day of the surgery (8.21),
the director came in person and checked my swelling and progress frequently every day. Since it was my last day of hospitalization, he gave me precautions and bought me medicine. ㅠㅠ It didn’t hurt, but I still felt a little uncomfortable. On
the fourth day of the surgery (8.22),
I arrived home and read the precautions manual given by the hospital and diligently ate soy milk and pumpkin porridge for aftercare. I also sent KakaoTalk messages to the hospital when I had questions, and they answered me right away, so I was grateful!
Day 5-7 after surgery (8.23-8.25)
Now that I'm used to it, I'm sleeping well, eating, and taking medicine, so the discomfort is almost 0. I visited the hospital on the 1st day, and Director Lee Seok-jae personally disinfected my mouth and told me that my wound was healing well, so I was so thankful.
It was the best that he also did laser treatment for swelling.
Day 8-14 after surgery (8.25-9.3)
About 2 weeks into the surgery, I had the stitches removed, and after that, I brushed my teeth with a baby toothbrush and ate ground porridge, so I felt like I was going to live so much. Director Lee Seok-jae personally did all the outpatient treatments at the hospital, and he also did laser treatment for swelling every time I went to the hospital, and I felt so good that he cared about each and every patient.
2024.9.19 (One month after surgery)
I started eating baby food, but now I'm eating porridge and soft noodles.
The first and second weeks were really hard, but the third and fourth weeks were when I adapted a lot, so the tingling pain was less and things stabilized a lot. The swelling has gone down a lot and I'm slowly returning to my daily life. There's
still some swelling left, but I'm proud of having the surgery

It's swollen, but it's really swollen and feels good.
