I was always worried about my square jaw and cheekbones when I looked straight ahead.
I only worried about it, but it hasn't been a few months since I started looking into it seriously, but I think I searched very hard!
The place I was most drawn to was Gongganguijeongseok, and when I received the consultation, there was no excessive consultation such as unconditionally recommending 3 types, and I was able to make a decision with confidence because they explained in detail what the results would be, and I was able to schedule it on the day I wanted. (They were very considerate about scheduling.)
The surgery was scheduled for 9 AM on Saturday, but since it was the first time, I was nervous and arrived a little early.. haha.
Just like the consultation, I saw Director Oh Jeong-seok one more time, made a decision, and headed to the operating room.
I was so nervous that I think I passed out a few seconds after being anesthetized.
When I woke up, they were heading to the recovery room, and while I was still dazed, they came in several times to wake me up because I had to wake up from the anesthesia.
I don't think other people would feel this way, but I was so dizzy from the anesthesia that I knew I shouldn't drink water, but I reached for water. I thought I'd wake up and go home in two hours, but it took longer than I thought. I was planning to take the bus, but I ended up taking a taxi home. ㅋㅋ
When I was having a hard time, the director and the head of the hospital came to check on me several times.. Looking back now, I'm so grateful..!
After getting home, I roughly cleaned up my condition, turned on the electric blanket, and just sat down.
My face was swollen, but maybe because the anesthesia hadn't worn off yet, it didn't hurt that much. I kept feeling dizzy because of the anesthesia smell? I think I tried to breathe deeply to get it out of my body.
When I woke up, I was fine. The first day was really hard...
The next day was a time to work on reducing the swelling, and I think I only drank Newcare for about three days.
Since you can't suck on the straw, I put the straw in my mouth and squeezed the Newcare pack into my mouth to drink it. ㅋㅋ I was so touched that I could eat it.
From about a week, I ate soft foods such as steamed eggs and sponge cake.
(Now that I’m in the 4th week, there’s nothing I can’t eat..)
After the stitches were removed in the 2nd and 3rd weeks, I felt that the swelling was going down at a different rate,
but I think it’ll definitely take a few months for the residual swelling to go down. The remaining residual swelling is on my cheeks, and it feels a bit like recovering from wisdom tooth surgery!
Now that the swelling is going down day by day, my face shape seems to be settling down, so I’m very satisfied!
Looking back now, I’m surprised that I didn’t get bruised after the surgery…
I was able to ask the director questions whenever I saw him, and these are the questions I asked.
1. (Questions before surgery) Is surgery possible during orthodontic treatment? -> I had partial orthodontic treatment and was diagnosed as possible, but I think it can vary from person to person.
2. Will it get caught at the airport security checkpoint? -> They said it won’t.
3. After the 4th week, my mouth is opening a little bit, so can I practice opening my mouth? ->
From before the surgery to after the surgery and management, there was no inconvenience and everyone at the hospital was kind, which left an impression! If you are thinking about a hospital, I would like to recommend ㅇㄱㅇㅈㅅ ^_^
