I finally got the splint removed.
I was in a total mess with a hooked nose, arrow nose, long nose, and curved nose. I went to 6 hospitals, so I chose the one that seemed to be the safest and the one that I agreed with the director the most, and I have no regrets!
During the consultation, all I wanted was a straight line that was natural, safe, and didn't change my impression too much.
The director said that the hooked beak was so severe that there might be a little bit left, and although there was still swelling, he trimmed it really neatly. For the
tip of the nose, he used ear cartilage and the nasal septum.
The manager and staff are also reasonably friendly without feeling burdensome. I think this is more comfortable than being too friendly...
The hospital isn't large, but it's cozy...? Haha, it wasn't bad! And most of all, it was nice that there were so many people that I didn't feel like I was being put behind.
Surgery day: I arrived an hour before the surgery, took pictures, gargled, washed my face, and waited before going into surgery. Guardians can view CCTV on a tablet. In the middle of the anesthesia, I woke up because I moved too much. But it wasn't scary at all and the nurses in the operating room were really kind. And as I was awake, I could hear and feel the director's words and actions, and I felt trustworthy.
After the surgery, I took some rest in the recovery room and met the doctor, and I was able to see the photos taken right after the surgery. After brief consultation, I was discharged. At this time, I liked my nose line so much that I didn't feel anxious for a week while wearing the splint.
I took a taxi home and started to feel pain from then on. It was really painful for 4 hours after the surgery, but my upper teeth and gums were more painful than my nose and ears... There are still bruises on the inside of my upper lip, but it hasn't hurt since then, perhaps because of the medication.
At night, when I tried to sit down and sleep, I really woke up every 10 minutes... I thought about 30 minutes had passed, but when I looked at the clock, 10 minutes had passed... I just couldn't sleep and stayed up all night with my eyes closed... Day 1: I couldn't sleep, so I immediately went to get cotton in the morning
. I got antibiotics and an injection for swelling. It didn't hurt to remove cotton from my nose, but wow, what about injections for swelling.. It could be because I'm in the worst condition, but it hurts so much and I feel badㅜ Tingling, tingling haha. And when I get laser treatment for swelling, my body is so sensitive and tired that I can't even lie down and do it, so I jump out. I really need to sleep well. The staff must have been embarrassed.
From the night of the second day onwards, I just lay down and slept. The swelling was the worst on the morning of the first day, when my entire face was swollen and even my eyes were bruised.
Days 2 to 6: After the first day, I just slept lying down and my mouth was dry, but as time went by, the number of times I woke up in the morning decreased. Even though I put cotton in my nose, the mucous membrane was swollen and my nose was clogged. There is very little swelling except for the nose, and the bruising is all yellow, so it seems like it will almost disappear in a few days. Instead, my nose is like a Hallabong haha. And the runny nose is really impossible for daily life... It's even more difficult because I can't even blow my nose. Even if I just wipe the drippings, I wipe too much and the skin under my nose stings. I keep applying lip balm and wet my face with a towel and put it in the microwave
. After warming it up and chatting about the warm compress, I wiped my face with the towel. I also wiped my face with a skin pad.
I went to the hair salon on the 3rd and 7th days for my hair.
Day 7: Finally, I went to take off the splint. I took a picture and the nurse did it for me, but my face was very oily...^_^ Removing the splint didn't hurt at all and I could barely feel the stitches. Mureungdowon wipes the inside of the nose with disinfectant gauze.
I got laser treatment for swelling and went to see the doctor. The director said the surgery went well and told me to eat well and rest well to prevent the autologous cartilage from being absorbed as much as possible. I feel more reassured because the doctor seems satisfiedㅜ
-Day 8: My nose is still swollen, but the bruising is really almost gone. Two days later, I go to work, but if I put on makeup, it won't be visible at all. My
facial expression hasn't changed at all, which is great, and if I don't say anything, no one who sees me for the first time will know that I had surgery. Same..but I re-registered Face ID lol. I hope the swelling goes down quickly and I feel a little thinner.
- The only way to manage swelling is with cold and warm compresses... It seems like I only used cold compresses hard and didn't use warm compresses very well... I didn't go for a walk either. Did I drink 2 packs of pumpkin juice? There is a tea called Boram tea that helps manage swelling. I had some at home so I bought some. Even so, the swelling went down quite well.
- I used 200 sterilized cotton swabs in 7 days hahahaha I bought another 100 todayㅜㅜ I use a lot because of the runny nose and ointment
- I need a humidifier when I sleep..... Still,
I'll add more pictures when the dry scabies and swelling on my tongue go down~. ~I hope this helps~!
