각막 검사를 처음 받아봤는데 생각보다 간단하고 금방 끝났어요. 검사 전에 약간 긴장했지만, 과정이 전혀 아프지 않아서 금방 마음이 놓였습니다. 밝은 빛을 보거나 기계로 눈을 스캔하는 느낌이 조금 낯설었지만, 검사하는 동안 의료진이 친절하게 설명해 주셔서 안심할 수 있었어요. 검사 결과 각막 상태가 건강하다는 걸 확인하고 나니 마음이 한결 가벼워졌습니다. 특히 렌즈를 자주 사용하는 만큼 눈 건강을 꾸준히 체크하는 게 정말 중요하다는 걸 느꼈어요.

오랫동안 안경과 렌즈를 착용해오다가 일상생활의 불편함을 줄이고자 라섹 수술을 결심했어요 안경을 쓴 채 운동하거나 렌즈로 인한 건조함을 겪는 것이 정말 불편했거든요 수술에 대한 두려움도 있었지만 많은 후기들을 찾아보면서 결심하게 되었습니다.
수술 당일 병원에 도착하자마자 먼저 시력과 각막 두께 눈의 전반적인 건강 상태를 체크하는 검사를 받았어요 의사 선생님께서 라섹 수술이 제 눈 상태에 적합하다고 하셨고 수술 과정에 대해 상세히 설명해주셔서 마음이 한결 편해졌어요 수술은 비교적 짧은 시간 안에 끝난다고 하셨지만 아무래도 눈을 다루는 수술이다 보니 긴장이 많이 됐어요.
수술실에 들어가 눈에 마취제를 넣고 라식과 달리 라섹은 각막 절편을 만들지 않고 바로 표면을 레이저로 교정해주는 방식이었어요 처음에는 약간의 압박감과 빛이 번쩍이는 느낌이 있었지만 통증은 거의 없었어요 수술 시간은 양쪽 눈을 합쳐 10분도 채 걸리지 않았던 것 같아요 수술이 끝난 후에는 약간의 따가움과 눈물이 나왔지만 이 정도는 예상했던 불편감이라 참을 수 있었어요
수술 후 첫 3일 정도는 눈이 많이 예민해져서 눈을 뜨기 어려울 만큼 빛에 민감했어요 눈꺼풀이 무거운 느낌도 들고 마치 모래가 들어간 것처럼 따가웠어요. 이때는 처방받은 인공눈물과 진통제를 꾸준히 사용하고 최대한 눈을 감고 쉬는 게 중요했어요. 그리고 선글라스를 꼭 착용해서 눈을 보호해주었고요
수술 후 일주일이 지나면서부터는 눈의 상태가 점점 좋아졌어요. 처음에는 조금 흐릿하게 보였지만, 시간이 지날수록 시야가 선명해지고, 일상생활이 편해졌어요. 한 달 정도 지나니 더 이상 불편함 없이 책을 읽거나 컴퓨터 작업도 할 수 있게 되었어요
지금은 수술 후 몇 개월이 지났고 1.0 이상의 시력을 유지하고 있어요 안경이나 렌즈 없이 생활하는 자유로움이 정말 좋아요 아침에 일어났을 때 시계가 또렷이 보이고 비 오는 날에도 걱정 없이 나갈 수 있는 것 운동할 때 안경이나 렌즈 걱정이 없는 것이 정말 행복해요.
물론, 라섹 수술은 회복 기간이 길고 초기에는 불편함이 있지만 그만큼 결과가 만족스러워요. 저처럼 안경이나 렌즈로 불편함을 겪고 계신 분들이라면, 충분한 상담과 준비를 통해 라섹 수술을 고려해보셔도 좋을 것 같아요. 생활의 질이 정말 많이 달라질거 같습니다.
