I kept getting information from Seongyesa and just decided to get the surgery, but I got used to it and forgot about it, but I'm writing
 
this because I want to help. For reference, I was also in the early days of the enophthalmos-related ㅇㅍㅋㅌ, but some people in that room only got in the way of finding information. I don't want to see people worrying and whining about weird things in that room, so please don't ask them to come in there.
 
I shared photos and information with a few people who were considering surgery on other platforms, but there were some weird people who pushed it as an advertisement or saved the photos and uploaded them to other platforms and wrote articles asking if you could see the difference before and after, so I didn't write or share information after that, but there are more people than I thought who are interested in this surgery, so I'm going to share information for the last time.
 


To briefly explain enophthalmos surgery, it is a surgery that narrows the space inside the eye to protrude the sunken eye. There are two methods: fat grafting and implant insertion. Fat grafting can protrude up to 1mm, and implants can protrude up to 3mm, so I decided to go with implants.
 
I went to one of the hospitals, ㅃㄸㄱ or ㅇㅊ, and I won’t disclose the name of the hospital. I don’t want to be mistaken for an advertisement, and I think it’s right to consult with each hospital and have the surgery at the hospital of your choice
 
. After the consultation, I focused on safety and follow-up measures rather than effectiveness, such as whether the effect was secondary, whether there was much deformation when the implant was removed, and whether the price was reasonable. I decided on the hospital and had a consultation.
 
From the first week of the surgery, I could go out with makeup on, and from the second week after the surgery, I was able to go about my daily life without any problems. After a month, the swelling went down and there were no more changes in my eyes. My eyes were more bulging because they were swollen right after the surgery, but they went back in after the swelling went down, which is a bit disappointing.
 



It’s been about 3 months since I had the surgery, and I’m satisfied with the result. However, I can’t recommend it rashly. The effect is not dramatic compared to the cost and risk. I persuaded the doctor to make the implant as big as possible, and it seems to have come out 2.5 to 3 mm. The doctor said that it came out a lot, so if you enlarge it to that size, it would probably come out about 2.5mm.
 
After the surgery, my eyes got bigger and longer horizontally. In fact, I am satisfied with the fact that my eyes got bigger, but what I like the most is the difference in my impression. When I took pictures from far away, my eyes looked sunken in because of my eyebrows and cheekbones, and they looked stuffy and dark, but that part has improved.
 Even when I took pictures from far away, the shadows were greatly reduced (the shadows aren't completely gone^^;). In particular, when I looked at it at a 45-degree angle, my eyebrows and cheekbones were protruding, and my eyes looked sunken as if they had been hit, but the curves have been greatly improved. I am really satisfied with this.
 

However, as you can see in the text, you shouldn't expect dramatic results. My eyes aren't getting hugely bigger at all, but my impression is refreshing and naturally open as my eyes protrude forward. It's not a surgery to make my eyes bigger in the first place, but it's a surgery to improve my impression and make my eyes look bigger naturally.
 
 Also, the average Korean protrusion is about 15, but mine is still below average at 14, 14.5 (14) for both eyes. However, I am really impressed that my original severe sunken eye was improved to this level from 11, 11.5.
 
If you are considering this surgery due to severe sunken eye like me, I hope you will make the decision yourself. Lastly, I will attach the information about the safety that I asked about and conclude the article.
 

1. Is it a risky surgery?
 - All surgeries are risky, but since the eyes are very important to our bodies, it is considered much more risky than eye or nose surgeries. The surgery itself is not difficult, but if you are unlucky and have functional problems, the risk is high, so you need to be careful.
 
2. Is there a high probability of side effects?
 - If the protrusion exceeds 3mm, the probability of side effects increases. On the other hand, if it is less than 2.5mm, there is no major problem. Double vision also occurs temporarily and disappears quickly.
 
3. Is it the same as orbital fracture surgery?
 - It is completely different. Orbital fracture is to reattach the broken bone to reconstruct the orbital chamber, and in my case, to narrow the healthy orbital chamber, inserting a prosthesis. Unlike orbital fracture surgery, there is no dissection to the area where the optic nerve is, but since the prosthesis is inserted under the eye, not behind the eye, it cannot protrude too much.
