I started having nasolabial folds in my early thirties, and by my late thirties , my nasolabial folds had become so deep that I thought they could never be reversed. I absolutely did not want to inject fillers or anything else, and the more I looked into fat grafting, the more it contributed to sagging my face. Aristocratic surgery is perfect for becoming a monkey statue, right? So, I tried everything and learned how to do it. Nowadays, if I'm out for a long time and my skin is dry, or if I meet people for a long time and talk a lot and laugh all day, it tends to catch on, but other than that, it's gone to the point where it's barely noticeable. Since the collagen has already been lost inside the nasolabial folds, a complete 100% recovery is impossible, but it has recovered to the point where the wrinkles are not visible when they are still there, so I would like to introduce how to manage the nasolabial folds. For your information, I have extremely dry skin, so try using my method in a style that suits your skin type. 1. Always relax your shoulder and neck muscles. All the muscles in the human body are connected. So, if your shoulders and neck are tight, your face will age quickly and feel saggy. So, I make sure to relax my neck and shoulders. The most effective one is an exercise called “Lee Ji-eun cutting the trapezius muscle” on YouTube. Change all the exercises from lying down to standing up and do it often in the office. Then, you will feel very refreshed, your trapezius muscles will disappear, and your face will not lose elasticity. Also, if you put your hands together on your chest, stick your tongue to the roof of your mouth, and raise your head up to the sky, your throat will feel really sore, right? At this time, if you push your chest down slightly with your hands, you will feel more pulling. Then, it will be good for neck wrinkles and your neck muscles will feel refreshed. Lastly, if your trapezius muscles are not relaxed no matter how much exercise you do, use AGER Derma EMS Shot to loosen your shoulders. (It's not an ad!!!!! I also got it from Carrot) It's originally a home device that relaxes facial muscles, but when you put it near your gums, a lot of people say it gives off a tingling sensation and makes them feel bad, right? It's really good if you buy one of these cheaply, apply ultrasound gel, and relax your trapezius muscles . Of course, it is also effective in loosening facial and jaw muscles. 2. Use a neck band protector to prevent turtle neck. They sell it on Coupang for around 10,000 won? People who work in an office have stiff necks and stiff necks, so it would be good to prevent that posture in the first place. I feel so much more refreshed after using this. Normally, when looking at the phone, it would be better to look straight ahead instead of lowering your head, but that doesn't work, so if you wear a neck band, it's definitely different in the evening. 3. Reduce talking and laughing and do facial yoga. If you talk a lot outside all day and laugh a lot, your skin will gradually dry out, and when you return home in the evening, your nasolabial folds will be deep. I don't even wear much makeup. Instead, moisturize well and then do face yoga diligently. You know that baboon expression that Yoo Se-yoon often makes? Stretching the philtrum in the shape of the o-ha lips. That and filling your mouth with air to smooth out wrinkles. Do that often. If you do other face yoga exercises diligently, it is good for your facial elasticity. Just as your body gains elasticity when you exercise, your face also gains elasticity when you exercise. 4. Avoid gaining facial fat. This is kind of sad, you can't have everything. I know that if you don't have facial fat, you look older, but if you gain facial fat as you get older, your nasolabial folds will deepen due to gravity and you'll only get fat? So, I chose to have less facial fat, and when I applied a high-frequency device (in-mode home device version) to the area right next to the nasolabial folds (outward), I felt the nasolabial folds becoming lighter. I use Newa (it's not an ad!!!! I'm just a fan of home devices. I also get this from Carrot for half the price), but you shouldn't apply it directly to your nasolabial folds! It should be done right on top/side with the thought of reducing the weight of the skin on the nasolabial folds . But you have to be really careful. If you put it higher than expected, the fat under your eyes will be exposed as much as it is in front of you... Black... So, I'm seriously looking into whether I should apply under my eyes right now. Use it with caution. It's good for reducing chin fat. I got addicted to In-Mode and used it every two weeks, but I felt like I was wasting my money, so I switched to a home device. 5. Always pay attention to moisturizing. I tried all kinds of creams.
I tried using creams that cost around 1 million won, but in the past, I bought them mainly for elasticity, but there are limits to improving elasticity with cosmetics. For elasticity, it is much better to just go to a dermatologist and get an in-mode treatment, and the only things that can be maintained with cosmetics are moisturizing and complexion improvement (whitening). Once dry, wrinkles appear immediately. When I apply cream in the morning and evening, I mix the cream and Vaseline in a 1:1 ratio. In the past, I mixed idebenone liposome solution with cream and applied it, but Vaseline seems to be more effective than this. This method is also recommended by dermatologists.
6. Apply acetylhexapeptide-8, collagen solution ampoule, igf+egf+fgf. First of all, they are all concentrated liquids used as cosmetic ingredients, so they may be strong for some people. I tend to use it as a blunt product, but if it is irritating, be sure to mix it with toner or lotion. Acetylhexapeptide is the best for temporarily getting rid of wrinkles. Of course, it is not a magic solution, so you have to apply it every day. Still, I can most definitely feel the wrinkles fading. When I felt like this was weakening (sadly, my skin seemed to be adapting), I used collagen concentrate and it worked well. When I felt like the effectiveness of these two was fading, I started applying igf, fgf, and egf concentrates, and now I apply five different types morning and night. I even added Vaseline and applied it as a set like this, and it seems like the ultimate moisturizer. This pattern continues. As for the brand, the concentrate from Malgeuldam in Coupang seems to be the cheapest and most effective. (It's not an advertisement!!!! I'm just telling you everything. You're going to ask questions anyway!! I'm just lazy to answer them all)
7. Use a facial wrinkle patch. This is very important. I wondered who would write something like this, but out of desperation, I tried it and experienced a whole new world. I didn't know that wrinkles get that deep while you sleep. I feel like I want to leave it on all day, but this is adhesive tape anyway, so I was told to only leave it on for a maximum of 8 hours because it might not be good for my face. So, I put it on every night before going to bed and take it off in the morning, but depending on the brand, the adhesive ends up on my face, so I recommend buying a few different products and settling on one. It's a bit expensive in Korea, but it's sold quite cheaply on Amazon, so it's a good idea to stock up if you ever go on a trip to the US. + I tried silicone patches for the first time this week and they are much better than tape-type patches!! It's a bit scary, so it's a bit of a burden when I'm not lying down, but if I'm going to do it while I'm sleeping anyway, it's good because it doesn't leave adhesive on it!!
8. Use homemade soap for your face. I forgot to add this. First of all, I don’t really wear makeup. And even on days when I put on makeup, I minimize the cleansing process as much as possible. Even dermatologists said that washing your face for the third time is not good for moisturizing. So, I thoroughly cleanse my skin with oil cleansing at once (they say oil cleansing is okay for oily skin too. It just washes it off) . On days when I don't wear makeup, I use Jeongango cloth soap, and this is the magic product. The key is to apply soap, wait for a minute, and then wash it off. Then, the skin will remain moist until the next morning.
9. Massage the lymphatic circulation. While applying moisturizer, I do lymphatic circulation massage and nasolabial fold prevention massage every day. You know that after each basic product is absorbed, you have to apply the next one, right? So, I apply one and massage my face and neck until it is all absorbed . 10. Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach. Always sleep on your front. I use a latex neck pillow that fits tightly around my neck. The pillow is surprisingly not clean (think about it, my head touches it every day), so I prefer not to touch my face with the pillow, and the good thing about using a neck pillow is that not only does it not make your face look dirty, it also straightens your neck, which is good for preventing neck wrinkles. 11. Lie on your front in bed using a cell phone holder. If you use your phone in bed, you lie on your back side. When you lie on your side, gravity pushes your cheeks to the side, deepening the nasolabial folds. So, I have to sleep lying on my front, but even when I look at my phone, I mostly lie on my side.
If that's the case, buy a stand, install it, and get into the habit of lying on your front! Of course, it is best not to use your phone in bed as it can interfere with good sleep . 12. Go to bed early and wake up early to improve sleep quality. Certainly, on days when I went to bed late and woke up late or slept little, my face became dull and wrinkles deepened. 13. When washing your face, do not push it with a towel, but pat it dry. I thought I wouldn't use it because it's so basic, but I left it out just in case. Haha, here's my method! Of course, there is the inconvenience of having to do care without surgery every day... I hate filler injections and I hate fat grafting! Then try my method. Personally, I have tried the method of massaging the mouth by inserting one's hand into the mouth, which is popular on YouTube, and I have tried changing the acupressure level several times, but it only looks better due to the instantaneous swelling, but only results in more wrinkles and sagging, so I personally do not like it. Since this is a plastic surgery community, it may be a bit deviant, but I'm a fan of home devices... I have a question about home devices. I'll ask a question haha.
