I had surgery on the under eye area at a place where only local anesthesia was used without sedation. But it was very uncomfortable and painful throughout the surgery. I managed to endure the uncomfortable feeling, but I couldn't bear the sharp pain that felt like a pinch every now and then, so I told him that it hurt, and he said that surgery would be very difficult because my eyes are small. The doctor said, "Oh, it's difficult to perform surgery because my eyes are small." Patient! He said, “Your eyes are too small~”... But I thought I shouldn’t offend the doctor, so I smiled and flattered him. I felt really embarrassed because I thought that the people assisting with the surgery next to me would be watching this situation.
      Then, during the surgery, they kept asking me questions like, 'Where did you go to school, what was your major, why did you take a leave of absence, what did you do during your leave of absence, did you have fun?' For your information, I am an international student and took a leave of absence for various reasons, but this time I came to Korea for a short period of time due to visa issues. But I didn’t want to talk about my personal life and I was too sick to talk about it, so I just said, “I took a leave of absence from school because of the coronavirus.” “I took a leave of absence from school and worked~” I tried to give a rough answer like this and move on. Then he asked me if I wanted to work in Korea or that country after I graduated, and when I said I would go to that country and work, the doctor said, “Someone will hire a kid who doesn’t even study.”...;; (How do you know if I'm studying or not?) I didn't respond because I was offended, so I told him not to take it seriously because he was just joking. Then, he boasted that his child graduated from school in that country, and although there was a severe employment shortage in that country, he got a job and started working right away.
       After that, he talked non-stop throughout the surgery, and the content was not very pleasant (slandering a certain group of people), and it was very difficult to respond to everything he said while in so much pain. I felt like I was being treated somewhat rudely in general, but I thought why should I pay money and be treated like this, so I really regretted choosing this hospital during the surgery.
      When I went to see the mid-term results, he didn't mention much about the surgical site and kept telling me to get eye surgery. What makes you think that I can get surgery here again after being treated like that during the surgery? Anyway,
     it's been a week since the surgery and the area around my eyes is still swollen, and I don't know if it's the swelling or what, but the furrows under my eyes look puffy. It looks worse than before surgery. Every time I look in the mirror, I keep thinking about what the doctor said, and that makes me feel quite depressed. When I had nose surgery, I didn't have this much mental trouble during the recovery period, but this time, I keep having negative thoughts, I hate my face, and I'm a bit depressed...
