Conclusion: If the asymmetry is severe, correction and bimaxillary surgery are not possible.

~ The two pictures at the very bottom are pictures taken after the double jaw surgery. I will never reveal the name of the hospital even if you send me a message/comment. However, I had it done at an oral and maxillofacial surgery department, and after studying and working hard for about 3 years about double jaw orthodontics, I am proud to say that I received it at the best hospital and orthodontic clinic. (During the consultations at various hospitals and during my hospitalization, the doctors/nurses were surprised and asked how well they knew.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Asymmetry: I first realized my asymmetry in high school... I didn't know much about it in middle school, but when I was taking my high school graduation picture, the photographer told me to "tilt my head to the right," and I still remember that expression on his face as if something was strange and unclear... And when I looked at my graduation picture, I realized that I had severe left-right asymmetry, like a patient with a windpipe. Maybe it's because I've been sitting with my legs crossed or apart since middle school, and I often do it with my legs crossed + my teeth and braces weren't good, so I should've gotten braces a long time ago, but I missed the timing... As an adult, I developed a huge complex about taking pictures, so my civil ID is still the same picture I took when I was 19 (the photo studio blurred my lips, so it looks less asymmetrical, but it's still a bit weird;;) + I also have to use the ID photo I need for job applications when I was 22;; ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Teeth: Class 3 malocclusion, 4 teeth extracted for correction. The difficulty level was 13 out of 15 (worst)... The orthodontic treatment alone would cost 9 million won, and since my maxilla is small (normal people have a large maxilla and small mandible. I have a small maxilla and large mandible), I need to expand my arch, but they said I'm too old to do it... (It's only possible until your very early 20s, and if you do it when you're older, your teeth will all break because of the device...) And they said that black triangles (holes between the teeth) would definitely form, and my teeth would also be corrected to move inward... ㅠㅠ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Bimaxilla: First, I visited about 20 plastic surgeons (after each consultation, I always got a panoramic and CT scan), and I always recorded my consultations with the doctor + I studied a bit about bimaxillary surgery and watched many surgical scenes on YouTube. Unless you're a very small number of crazy doctors who are crazy about money, most doctors diagnose you with a diagnosis of essential bridge correction + skeletal asymmetry + other than unimaxillary dentition, and that bimaxillary surgery is definitely the answer. That's the conclusion. And there is also eye height asymmetry + ear height asymmetry + nose asymmetry + lip asymmetry + head asymmetry... I think this should almost be covered by insurance... (Unfortunately, it is not currently covered by insurance)  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Results after double jaw surgery: As you can see in the pictures, asymmetry can only be improved slightly, but it can never be eliminated and it cannot be made symmetrical. In dermatology, it's like pores (this is advice from someone with actual experience who spent over 5 million won on pore treatment at a dermatologist). While studying, I heard that bimaxillary surgery improves asymmetry by 70%, but I'm not sure... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Future plans: First, I have about a year left for the post-correction (I paid for it, so I have no choice but to get it all done...) and I 'm planning to get eye correction surgery in 3 months to match the asymmetry and eye height as much as possible with the inner double eyelids (this is also because the height and position of the bones in the eyes are completely different, so I'll have to hope for improvement...). I 'm also thinking about getting septal deviation surgery in about 10 months (of course, perfect symmetry is absolutely impossible with this as well, and I know that I should just get it done in the hopes of improving the asymmetry, just like bimaxillary surgery)  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And as a side note, never. go. to. an oriental medicine clinic. It's ridiculous to solve facial asymmetry with acupuncture or massage. I also stupidly spent over 300 in the past. Just go to the gym with that money and exercise to get symmetry, and search for pelvic correction exercises on YouTube and do some of those (I've been doing them for a year now).
