this is a review of double jaw surgery + 2 types of contouring (square jaw, front chin)!
Since I was in elementary school, every dentist I went to said that I was a double jaw case due to facial asymmetry. As I got older and started to care about my appearance, my self-esteem dropped a lot and I started to avoid taking pictures. Seeing that, I decided to get double jaw surgery!
The reasons for choosing the hospital were that they offer one surgery per day, they provide real-time CCTV to guardians, and the director is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, so I chose Y-Guang. After deciding on the hospital, another good thing was that they have an orthodontic department right next to it, so as a missionary orthodontic case, I only had to go to one place, which was very convenient. Also, the director answered any questions I had before and after the surgery quickly and kindly, which made me feel reassured!
And before going into surgery, they take my temperature, but my fever actually went up at that time and my surgery was postponed.
I didn't want my surgery to be postponed, but when the director said that it's dangerous to have a fever, he postponed the surgery by saying that I should control my condition well and have the surgery next time, which made me trust the director more. That much, I felt reassured that the director doesn't take risks and doesn't push himself too hard and thinks of the patient's safety first. Those who are about to have surgery, please take care of your condition wellㅠ!!
From the day of surgery until discharge, I didn't have as much difficulty as I thought, but when I had trouble breathing or felt any discomfort, the doctors came running right away when I rang the bell and changed the ice pack regularly in between. I'm so grateful to the doctors on duty and the doctors in the operating room!
From the time I came home after the surgery until I came back to the hospital for disinfection, I didn't have any major discomfort except for being hungry and not being able to brush my teeth. After the stitches were removed, I still can't chew, but I'm eating well by cutting food with scissors without being picky about food and doing mouth exercises.
And the effect is really good.. I'm satisfied!
But my biggest worry right now is swelling..
I think my swelling is worse than other people's and it doesn't go down as easily (Is it murder?) After reading reviews from my seniors who had double jaw surgery, I'm going for walks and doing hot compresses diligently, so I think it'll go down slowly, right? ㅠㅠㅎㅎ
