Malocclusion, large face, long midface, gums visible when smiling. I
have had malocclusion since I was young, where my upper and lower teeth are aligned, so I was told by the dentist I went to that I was a double jaw case!
I thought I would never do double jaw surgery because I thought it was a dangerous and major surgery, but as I grew older, my complex about my face shape got worse, and because of the behavior of cutting noodles with my tongue when chewing and deliberately tucking my jaw in to correct malocclusion, I had double jaw + 3 types of contour (square jaw). + front chin + cheekbones) haha
I saved only the reviews of people who had surgery for the face shape I wanted and checked the hospital. Not going to lie, I only scraped the reviews of people who had surgery at Y. I thought
the style I wanted would fit perfectly, so I went ahead with it.
While reading other people's 6-month reviews, I wondered when that time would come or if it would ever come, but now time has passed and I am also leaving a 6-month review like this hahaha.
If you ask me how I am doing now that it has been 6 months since my double jaw surgery, I really do sometimes. I'm doing so well that I even forgot I had surgery. In fact, I think I'm doing better than before the surgery. Before the surgery, my occlusion was not right, so I had some discomfort when cutting the noodles, but after the surgery, my occlusion became normal, and I am satisfied with both the functional and cosmetic aspects.
Currently, my senses have returned to 100%, including in my cheekbones, around my mouth, the roof of my mouth, and the tip of my chin!
The swelling still remains in the philtrum and the inside of the mouth, so I relieve it from time to time and do mouth exercises every now and then.
There are things I am careful about when I eat food because of braces, but because of double jaw surgery, I no longer have to be careful about foods!
Actually, compared to other orthognathic surgery patients, my malocclusion was not as severe, so I had more concerns and worries about the surgery.
However, my biggest complex, the long midface area and the gums that are visible when I smile, are problems that cannot be solved with orthodontics and contouring surgery alone. So, after much thought, I decided to have surgery.
In conclusion, even if I had to go back, I think I would have surgery again! Although the recovery process for the first month after surgery was a bit difficult, I think I would have surgery again without hesitation if I could enjoy the happiness I have now.
