I remember it being quite a long time ago, but I have been receiving orthodontic treatment for over 6 years since I was in elementary school and have been wearing a retainer for a long time. I'm not sure because my teeth weren't too crooked and I didn't have any overlapping teeth, but it was nice that my teeth were neat and didn't have any crooked teeth! I will briefly write down the pros and cons that I personally feel. Advantages: Slight correction of the protruding chin, pretty and neat teeth. Disadvantages: After a few years of removing the retainer, the teeth become increasingly crooked (retention is long), teeth become yellow after orthodontic treatment, teeth rot easily so you need to brush them more often, cost of losing the retainer haha. .,If you have braces after becoming an adult, you will need to have teeth extracted. If you tighten the retainer, your teeth will be so painful that you will want to pull them out. + Severe nasolabial folds.
