I extracted orthodontic teeth for about a year and then had the surgery. It didn't hurt as much as I thought, but it was really hard for a month. The hardest part was not being able to eat . Be sure to eat a lot of what you want to eat before the surgery... You will lose weight after the surgery anyway, so don't go on a diet. In the end, the surgery was successful, and although my temporomandibular joint became weaker, all my senses came back and there were no side effects! It's the best surgery I've ever had.
