When I was 20 years old, I had extractions and removed 2 top and bottom teeth . First of all, the advantage is - Teeth are straight: When the shape of the teeth was messed up, I couldn't eat noodles well, but after braces I cut them off well - I can live with my mouth closed: Before braces, my mouth It was always open because it had to be closed with force to close it. As a result, there were various problems that came with natural mouth breathing . When finished, there will always be a thin wire called a fixed retainer attached to the inside of the upper and lower teeth. You get used to it, but if food gets stuck between the retainer and the gap between your teeth, it's quite difficult to get it out. The wire in the middle of the front teeth is blocked horizontally, so I can't use dental floss, so I have to insert it into the gap with an interdental brush to get it out, and I still don't know if it's an advantage or a disadvantage (personally satisfied) - Protruding Mouth Correction: With orthodontic treatment, protruding mouth is corrected to some extent. There are positive and negative effects of this, and the positive effect is that the line of the nose and mouth improves aesthetically when viewed from the side. However, when viewed from the front, the lips are thinner because the mouth goes in. In particular, the lower lip is thinner than the upper lip because the lower teeth go in behind the upper teeth and occlusion is aligned. This may cause the lower jaw to look longer than it was before correction (the actual jaw will never be longer). The impression that the mouth is always open and looks blank is improved and the mouth shape is definitely improved, but I think this part should be considered. There are also nasolabial folds, but these have disappeared after a few years. Note that there seems to be cases where the nasolabial fold continues to go.
