First of all, I don't have any information about the hospital because I was in a foreign country.
It cost less than 6 million won and it took 1 year and 11 months.
In fact, my teeth were even and I started braces because my mouth
was protruding. I thought it wouldn't be effective because my gums were protruding. The doctor said with confidence that it would definitely go in, so he only extracted one upper premolar...
Usually, they all were extracted symmetrically, but I still don't know why they only extracted one tooth instead of a pair... …
The advantage is that
- instead of feeling like the mouth is firmly in,
it still feels like it's sticking out a little. The upper lip is thick and protruding like a bird's beak.
- Improved brushing habits.
In fact, in the past, I only brushed my teeth in the morning and evening a day, and that was roughly hahaha. I used something like dental floss and an interdental brush. I've never seen
it . After getting braces, if I don't brush my teeth after a meal, I feel like plaque builds up, so I brush my teeth right away and use an interdental brush and floss every night.
Actually, there are more disadvantages haha.
- Gums are weak, especially the lower teeth. The gums have receded a lot.
It hurts. I'm losing so I'm only using toothpaste because my teeth are sensitive
- I've developed a binge eating habit
It's annoying to take Invisalign out when I eat and put it back on after brushing my teeth, so when I take it out, I end up binge eating a
lot
. They say that since I keep wearing the device, it's bound to fade, so I'm thinking about getting my
retainers whitened sometime next month - I'll have to wear the retainers for the rest of my life.
I'm currently wearing a fixed retainer and a removable retainer that I only wear at night. Actually, I'm used to wearing aligners, so the removable retainer doesn't really bother me. Fixed retainers are so annoying!!! I can't use regular dental floss, I can only use orthodontic dental floss (Superfloss) ㅠㅠ And
I heard that tartar builds up really easily around fixed retainers ㅠㅠ You have to take good care of it ㅠㅠ Satisfied / Dissatisfied If you ask, I tend to be satisfied, but honestly, in terms of cost-effectiveness, I think it's okay. I think weakened gums are more critical than expected, so

I was very worried about what would happen, and because of the removable retainer, the recovery period took longer than others. They say
it usually takes a week, but it got better after about a week. Now (3 weeks), it's completely normal, but the pain is getting worse. Instead, I laugh. I am satisfied so far because my gums are clearly less visible.
