I had a total of 2 surgeries: around March 2021 -> 1st chin tip (advancement surgery, ㅅ osteotomy), square jaw (cortical bone resection and overall shaving) around September 2021 -> 2nd chin tip fixation screw removal, 2nd chin surgery overall. Shaving, cheekbone rotation For the square jaw, the angle was not removed at the doctor's recommendation, but only cortical bone resection and shaving were performed (the cost was the same as the cost of square jaw resection). Recovery was faster because I only did shaving, but the face was face forward. From the looks of it, the square jaw has become thinner, but the protrusion characteristic of the square jaw has not completely disappeared. If I were to do it again, I think I would cut it. The procedure was performed about 6 months later when the chin screw was removed, and it is said that chin tip shaving is not recommended on its own. Still, while removing the screw, an incision was made in the mouth, and they provided shaving for 750,000 won? Still, I was very worried because it was a bone-cutting surgery, and I think the side effects are not that big compared to the worry that the nerves would not come back if I did something wrong. The time it takes for the nerves to return varies from person to person, but for me, after about a month, I started to feel a tingling sensation as if my nerves were coming back, and after 3 months, I thought that if it was like this, I wouldn't have to worry about my nerves. And now, 3 years later, the side effects I am experiencing are 1. A slight secondary angle is felt due to the advancement of the chin tip - it was not that much advancement was done (1-2mm?). So other people can't feel it, but I have to touch it to know it? The secondary angle has been there for quite some time (now when I touch it again, it feels clean, right? I felt it; I don't know if it has recovered, but I am writing it down first because it is a side effect that I was quite concerned about for 1-2 years after the surgery.) 2. Weakness of the tip of the chin - an unavoidable part. Yes, I had the part excised, and now, 3 years later, I can rest my chin or rub it hard, but I'm afraid that strong impact, such as falling, will cause a lot of damage. (For this reason, I refrain from doing anything drastic, and the incisions are clearly visible on the X-ray.) 3. Tingling in the left cheekbone area? - This part has been problematic since the surgery. During the second surgery, my chin started hurting after wearing the bandage that fixed my cheekbones. Sure enough, after removing the bandage, there was a bruise under my chin. The same scar appeared, and my left cheekbone continued to tingle. I notified the hospital about this, but they told me to watch to make sure my cheekbones didn't fall off, and that the area under my chin would also improve over time, so I think I passed on it without a separate CT scan. At the time, the scar didn't go away easily and I felt a lot of tingling, so I was very stressed about whether my cheekbones had not adhered and fell off. Then, I got busy with work and forgot about it for about a year or two, and at some point, the scar under my chin completely disappeared, but the tingling sensation was still there. So, a few months ago, I had a CT scan and a check-up at the hospital, and it turned out that my cheekbone had not fallen off. The cause wasn't clear, but I was reassured when they told me it was probably because of the screw and that it would get better after the screw was removed. 4. Weight loss (the biggest side effect) - I was hoping the weight wouldn't sag, but I did. Of course, it's true that my face is much smaller than my original face, and the weight gain is also smaller than my previous face... Still, because of this, I have to go in mode and get fat injections. I've tried everything, but I haven't seen any significant results. I'm living with the thought that there's nothing I can do about it. It's not a serious side effect, such as severed nerves. It's been a long story, but anyway, I'm glad I had the surgery and I'm thankful that there were no serious side effects as it was a high-risk surgery.
