I had been concerned about my facial shape with severe cheekbones and curves for a long time. I had been putting it off due to my fear of contouring surgery and concerns about the side effects after the surgery, but I decided to have the surgery because I didn't want to worry anymore.
When choosing a hospital, I carefully considered many items such as safety system, surgical experience, confirmation of a plastic surgeon, the surgeon's mindset and attitude toward patients,
response in emergency situations, and facial line type pursued by the hospital. In conclusion, I checked myself. I decided to go to Soda Plastic Surgery Clinic, which was the best on the list, and had the surgery.
During the consultation, Dr. Jaehyun Kwon recommended only the parts that were truly necessary for my facial shape, and he spoke from the perspective of a patient who considers safety the most important, so I had confidence in him.
As for the recovery process,
there was almost no swelling immediately after the surgery, I was able to drink water 5 hours after the surgery, and I took cold compresses while not eating anything.
The swelling was at its peak on the 3rd to 4th day after surgery, and even during this time, I ate only rice wine and repeatedly applied cold compresses.
Two weeks after surgery, there was still a lot of swelling, and I was able to eat porridge or noodles instead of rice. At this time, I was done with cold compresses and spent time with warm compresses.
Until the 2nd week, my throat actually hurt more than the surgical area due to the general anesthesia tracheal intubation, but it gradually got better from about 2 weeks (there are individual differences).
After 1 month, I saw that the major swelling was going down, and I ate it carefully, except for the foods that should be excluded from the precautions. Yes.
I had bloody phlegm occasionally, but it was nothing special and disappeared over time (if the phlegm is yellow and smelly, inflammation is suspected, so you should tell the hospital).
It has been 3 months since the surgery, and I am eating well these days (I try not to eat tough foods such as squid as much as possible). , There are no problems with daily life, and strength training is possible.
These days, when I look in the mirror, wash my face, put on makeup, etc. while going about my daily life, I feel amazed and grateful when I see the shape of my face that has changed from before.
I am very satisfied with the natural reduction of my cheekbones.
Currently, there is no major discomfort in my daily life, I can open my mouth and eat well.
I still have some discomfort under my cheekbones when I smile, but I feel it is getting better as time goes by since the surgery, so I think this is still a normal process of recovery. Also, they said that the swelling would continue to go down 6 months to 1 year after the contouring surgery, so I am curious and looking forward to what it will look like then. Thank you again to all the staff at Soda Plastic Surgery for thinking from the patient's perspective and taking great care.
