I got this from a cafe I know, and I brought it here because I thought it would be helpful if you read it.
It's scary. I hope you read it.

This time, I'm going to write about Medpore, which should never be used during nose surgery. I was originally going to write an article about the side effects that can occur when performing nose surgery using costal cartilage in the order announced, but there was a brief mention of Medpore at the bottom of the septum nose surgery article I wrote a few days ago, and a member who saw this article left a note. They asked me to explain about Medpore, so I will finish this first and write about costal cartilage in the next article.
Now, let's get to the point and find out the scary truth about Medpore that can only be found in our cafe and that plastic surgeons don't tell us, rather than the obvious content posted on Naver intellectuals or blogs.
If you are a member of an anti-cosmetic cafe like us, we believe that there will not be many members who will agree if a doctor tells you to use Medpore when performing nose surgery.
However, even at this very moment, more people than we think are performing nose surgery using Medpore. Usually, the most common case where Medpore is used is when the doctor firmly believes that there is no problem in using Medpore (in this case, Medpore is used openly) When a doctor entered the operating room planning an operation to raise and lengthen the nose using the nasal septum, but when it was determined that it would be difficult to harvest a sufficient amount of nasal septum after opening the nose, Medpore was used to complete the surgery. These are the two most common and numerous.
From the teacher's point of view, we cannot just push it because if we forcibly remove the septum further, the problem of collapsing the nose may occur. However, simply closing it will not make any difference after the surgery, so it is clear that the patient will be angry, so Medpore is used without the patient's consent. This is the case when completing nose surgery using .
Surprisingly, because materials were used in the surgery without the patient's consent, the patient does not know until the end what materials were used for the surgery, and the doctor does not even tell him.
Later, after the side effects occur, I only find out when I go to another hospital, but this is absolutely not fiction, it is fact and reality.
I will say this again, but in the case of Asians, it is not common for a high-quality nasal septum to be harvested to be used for nose surgery. Now, let’s take a look at the side effects of Medpore.
I will try to explain with pictures and examples as easily as possible for even beginners to understand. With just this photo, you can understand everything without the need for a long explanation.
Medpore is an artificially made porous polyethylene material that has a structure with many holes and is very hard.
In the past, these were considered to be the advantages of Medpore and were used as a support when it was desired to increase the projection of the tip of the nose to replace the insufficient nasal septum and were in the spotlight. There was no need to remove it from other areas, and it had sufficient volume and hardness, so the surgery was easy and it looked good in the beginning. However, as time passes and several years have passed since it has been used clinically, Medpore is now a very controversial material and its risks are known, so directors with updated knowledge are absolutely against using it.
The hardness, which is a major characteristic of Medpore, adheres to surrounding tissues and affects the surrounding tissues as well. When the medpore, mucous membrane, and perichondrium adhere, deformations such as weakening and crumpling of the cartilage occur. Also, when it adheres to skin tissue, it hardens like breast meat, causing a strong foreign body sensation and discomfort. This hardened breast tissue cannot be completely removed through surgery even if the medpore is removed. If you get something, you just have to take it.
If inflammation or other problems occur in the nose, both the perichondrium and mucosa weaken, and the medpore itself becomes wrinkled and distorted. At this time, the cartilage bends and bends, causing the inside of the nose to become deformed in a bumpy shape.
This may be less scary because I took a picture with tape so that members would not be alarmed, but when I actually go into the operating room and see this scene, I am speechless due to the overwhelming sense of fear.
One-line summary: If you need nose surgery and the doctor tells you that Medpore will be used to perform surgery on the pillars or bridge of your nose, you will confidently open your eyes and write in the paper that there is a 5 to 10 times higher risk of inflammation compared to other implants. If you can't answer, please leave quietly.
And if there is a member who has currently had nose surgery with Medpore, I sincerely hope that it goes well for a long time without any problems. That's all for today. Next time, I'll write about costal cartilage.
