I've been getting a lot of help from Sungye Publishing, so even though it's not very readable, I'll still write it anyway! (Written on a PC.)
I'm a foolish person who really hates going to the hospital and just endures the pain and lets it get worse, but because of a cavity, my face and gums were really swollen and it
hurt so much, so I started going to the dentist early this year. So I got a CT scan at the dentist and there was a fine wire stuck in the tip of my chin..
Actually, I remember getting a square jaw + deep cheekbone removal for about 450,000 won about 10 years ago when I didn't know anything about it because of my face shape and cheek fat.
There was no prior notice that they would touch my chin, but my chin was back.ㅠㅠ (That hospital doesn't do contouring now, but they are still operating.)
I'm so insensitive to fat, and I gained a lot of weight here and there, got depressed, and neglected my appearance. But now I'm
much better, have the will to live, my weight is normal, and I exercise hard. But I wonder if I had a lot of square jaw reduction at the
time, or if my double chin was in a state of a square jaw and my chin was back, my double chin wouldn't go away no matter how much I lose weight
. And I wonder if I had deep cheekbone removal at the time, because my cheek fat wouldn't go away no matter what...
Anyway, I had two teeth extracted and was about to get implants, so I looked into orthodontic treatment
thinking that my image might improve if I did it, but I faced reality and actually should have had it resolved with bimaxillary surgery. This is a problem, but at the time, the cost was high and I was scared, so I tried to ignore it,
but before it was too late, I made up my mind to get surgery, and started going in June. It's
mostly for cosmetic purposes, but my temporomandibular joint is not good and my occlusion is too tight, so I'd like to treat all the aesthetic, psychological, and functional issues at once. I
've already decided on a hospital and have set a surgery date in August, so I'll briefly write about the hospitals I've been to!
----You don't have to read the above----
Current status
1. Long face (dog jaw, chin is recessed, so there's a double chin). The maxilla is long (the philtrum is also long) and sunken, and the mandible is long.
2. The centerline of the teeth is right, but the temporomandibular joint position and the length of the left and right jaws are different, so there's a slight asymmetry, and the volume (fat, muscle) on both sides is different.
3. The cheekbones are about 3mm wider than average, but most hospitals don't make it stand out, so it's optional.
(I want to get it done because I have asymmetry in my jaw, but the money... I think I'll think about it when I remove the pin.)
4. The length between the square jaws is 4mm, the head shape is 7mm, smaller than average, and the length of the midface is 1mm shorter.
5. Degenerative temporomandibular joint disease, internal organs, masticatory muscle disorder + bite that is too close. (Pre-surgery is possible)
6. Double chin, fat on the cheeks, philtrum, etc. will be resolved after surgery.
----Description----
ㅆㅂㅋㅇ > Director ㅊㅂㄱ. It
is famous as a hospital specializing in re-surgery, and the reviews for Seongye are quite mixed, but I called to see the director and make a consultation schedule, but in my case,
I got re-surgery, so the basic consultation fee is expensive, and since it is re-surgery bimaxillary surgery, the surgery fee is also extremely expensive, so I ended up not visiting.
Even though it was a phone consultation, the director was very kind.
ㅇㅇㅊ > Director ㅂㅈㅎ.
It was a bit difficult to make a reservation, but after calling continuously, a space opened up, so I was able to visit and receive a consultation relatively quickly.
This is not a hospital that does orthognathic surgery, but I had a face-to-face consultation to figure out my overall facial issues. As you know, the face-to-face consultation fee is very expensive, but
since he has seen many cases, he was very good at comparative analysis, had a great aesthetic sense, and was able to ask about various things, which was nice.
He suggested a future direction and told me not to do unnecessary procedures that would waste money, and told me to get orthognathic surgery right away, even though I didn't mention it
. The hospital is very luxurious and clean, and the director and staff are all kind.
There was no particular waiting time, and since there was only one person waiting when I finished my consultation, it seems that they only consult with one person at a time according to the reservation time.
ㅇㅈ > Director ㄱㄱㅈ.
Director Kim, who mainly does IVRO because my jaw joint is bad, was my top pick, but he said that there wouldn't be much change and that I should get braces.
I visited again just in case, but he declined again, probably because my goal was more cosmetic.
There was no waiting time and no one was waiting, the director was very kind, and after the consultation, while I was tidying up my luggage, Director ㄱㄱㅈ and Director ㅈㅎㄷ
went to make rounds in person. They definitely seemed to have a strong sense of responsibility and I envied those who had surgery. (I saw someone who had surgery in the elevator and it seemed like it went well.)
I wasn’t able to go into the consultation room, and the consultation time was about 5 minutes for both visits combined.
J > Director ㅇㅈㅁ.
I arrived 30 minutes earlier than the appointment time and got a CT and x-ray. (No bone scans, no openings) I
was only able to get the consultation 1 hour and 20 minutes after the appointment time, so I had to postpone
it until my next hospital appointment. Since the director was the type to ask me various questions while consulting, I couldn’t exchange many words because of my next schedule and couldn’t get the consultation properly.
I called and asked to visit again for a consultation, but the director said that I couldn’t do it anymore after seeing me once and kept demanding a detailed examination worth 200,000 won.
There were no additional costs for reoperations or anything, the staff were all friendly, and the hospital felt a bit small.
There were a lot of people waiting, and I saw some who had had surgery recently and some who had had it a while ago, but they seemed to be very skilled.
ㅅㅅㅇㅇ > Director ㄱㅈㅇ.
If you arrive early, there is no waiting time, and CT, X-ray, mouth opening, teeth molding, and other detailed examinations are provided as standard, and the consultation fee is also the cheapest.
The waiting time was not that long, and after going in for the consultation, since there were many basic examinations, they
carefully checked the exact location of the nerve line, the size of the airway, the bones, and the volume of the face (muscles, fat), and they measured it carefully and seemed to have a great finish.
I said that my temporomandibular joint was bad, but as a graduate of Yonsei University, they said that either IVRO or SSRO was possible, and I felt that they were trying to reflect the patient's needs as much as possible.
Since there was enough consultation time, I asked a lot of questions, and they honestly told me about the biggest enemies of double jaw surgery, such as nose sagging and dry lips.
The director seemed tired because of the tight schedule for surgery and consultation, and as soon as the consultation was over, he went to the next room for another consultation.
I liked everything about the aesthetics, cost (I had to go for a second surgery), and the fact that the orthodontics department was located there. The director and staff were kind, and the hospital was spacious and clean. There were a few people waiting, including foreigners.
ㄴㅎㅇㅇ > Director ㅇㅅㅈ.
I arrived early and did basic tests such as CT, X-ray, and mouth opening. (Bone X)
The interior was neat and clean with white tones that matched the dental clinic, and there was no particular waiting time.
He showed me photos of cases similar to my face shape and told me how the surgery would be done, and he also touched my face and
measured it carefully with a ruler during the consultation. The diagnosis was a little different from other hospitals, but since he had a long career and worked at a large plastic surgery clinic,
I thought he would pursue aesthetics a little more, but I was prejudiced. It felt like he was aiming for stability and naturalness without being excessive.
And the director seemed like a quiet person, but he joked and tried to make me feel comfortable, so he seemed humane, and although
the consultation time was not that long, it did not feel lacking at all.
I also liked that there was an orthodontic department here. The cost here was also a reoperation, but considering the director’s experience, it was reasonable.
ㅅㅇㅍㅇㅅ > Director ㅈㅎㅇ.
The basic consultation fee was expensive because I had a reoperation here too.
There was no particular waiting time, and they conducted detailed examinations like CT, X-ray, mouth opening, and teeth molding, similar to ㅅㅅㅇㅇ. The hospital is spacious and clean, and since it is located high, the city view outside the window was nice while waiting for a short time. There were a lot of regular patients, but I also saw foreign patients like Chinese and Japanese.
The consultation with the director was satisfactory, and since it was almost the last consultation, he put up pictures on the monitor and
explained everything from A to Z with great passion and kindness to the point of being excessive so that I could understand. Here and there, he touched various parts of the face, measured it with a ruler, did basic numerical analysis, and tried to figure out the patient's needs and make the best result under the current conditions. Maybe
because the consultation time was the longest, the rapport was the best, and both the director and the manager were talkative. I liked that the orthodontic
department was located next to it, there were many staff members and they were all kind. The cost was measured as a reoperation and was the most expensive. I hope
this was of some help!!
