Has anyone ever traveled a long distance by car on the day of surgery?

I'm planning to have forehead lift + forehead reduction surgery soon, but I'm posting this because I don't know what to do on the day of the surgery.
 
I live in a rural area, and
 after the surgery, I drive down with my mother for 4-5 hours,
 rest comfortably at home, and then
 go back on the 3rd day to take off the bandage. Would it be better to come up to Seoul?

Or would it be better to stay at a hotel near the hospital, stay alone for 4 days and 3 nights, take off the bandage, and then come home?

I like going home the day of surgery, but
 I don't know if I can ride in the car for that long right after surgery.
 I'm more worried because some people say they feel motion sick right after forehead lift surgery.
