I've had a complex about my face shape for a long time, and my biggest concern was my square jaw. I
was afraid of facial contouring, so I thought about getting a procedure to solve it, but since it's bone, I felt there was no solution other than surgery, so I decided to do it after a long time of thinking!
I looked into hospitals with safety as the top priority, but I had bad jaw joints and oral and maxillofacial surgery seemed to be more specialized than plastic surgery for bone surgery, so I went for a consultation first with oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Among them, I would like to tell you about my concerns first. I decided to have it done at ㅇYoonㄷ Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which I trusted because they took care of me and explained things to me in detail. :)
I was most worried about the front and side square jaw, so they only did the square jaw and cortical osteotomy.
Recovery was difficult until the second day, but after that, it wasn't as difficult as I thought. It may be because I have a square jaw, but even though it is a bone surgery, I thought this was bearable!
In particular, I had a bit of a cold, so I think the next two days might have been more difficult. The pain was sometimes just the pinching of the teeth at the incision in the mouth, but other than that, there was no pain at all. If I had any pain or questions, I sent a KakaoTalk message to the hospital, and they responded quickly, which was great! Looking back, I think the most difficult thing for me personally was the discomfort in sleeping and breathing due to a stuffy nose. I
ate rice for a few days, but at the time, I didn't have an appetite anyway, so it didn't matter. After a few days, my appetite came back, and chewing became easier.
As the hospital said, after eating, my mouth was sore. I did a lot of disinfection, and I also tried a lot of hot flashes and cold compresses :)
I'm not sure about the changes in appearance because the minor swelling is still going down, but I'm personally feeling it little by little. In particular, it is clearly visible that the square jaw on the side has disappeared! It will definitely be better once all the swelling goes down on the front.
I was very nervous and scared of the surgery, but I am satisfied because it seems to have gone well. It was even better because overall, everything including follow-up care and surgery was done neatly and reliably. I'm looking forward to seeing what it will look like in 3 and 6 months
