I had surgery today for the first time. I
arrived at the hospital by 9 o'clock, washed my face, changed into hospital clothes, filled out the consent form, took another photo of my face, paid the amount excluding the reservation fee, and sat in the waiting room.
I couldn't sleep the night before because of various thoughts, but I went to the hospital. I wasn't particularly nervous or anything,
and I went into the operating room after receiving a brief consultation based on my last consultation with the director.
I have a long front chin, so along with the front chin surgery, the surrounding area was trimmed to prevent secondary angles from forming. The left side doesn't have much of a square jaw, but the right side does. It was slightly protruding compared to the left side, so my square jaw was asymmetrical, so I decided to touch up only the right side
. Since this was my first time having surgery under general anesthesia, I thought the operating room would be very grand, but it wasn't as big as I thought, so I think I was less nervous..!
They put a syringe in my arm and injected the medicine, but I felt a little stiff in my arm. They also put something like a pin on my ankle and held it in place so that my body would not move. After a while, the director of the anesthesiology department came and told me to go to sleep and injected the medicine, but it felt like the world was turning slightly white. As soon as I felt it, I don't remember anything afterwards.
When I came to my senses, I was in the recovery room and I felt a little dizzy, so that was a bit difficult. My neck felt a little stinging, and as I continued to stay there, my right square jaw felt a little sore... It wasn't really that painful. Ah, what if it hurts more here?ㅠㅠWhat??
I didn't have any pain, and when I inquired before, the director said that I would hardly ever be hospitalized, but if the director said I needed to do it, I could do it, but during the pre-surgery consultation, the director actually asked me if I wanted to be hospitalized. So, I told him that I would make a decision after the progress report. I thought it might be better to do it just in case it hurt a lot.
It wasn't really painful, but I felt dizzy and weak all over, so I wondered if I could take public transportation home, but I lay in the recovery room a little longer. Since I was feeling much better, I said I would go home and listened to the precautions. I
changed my clothes , took the gargle and ice pack they provided, paid the prescription to the pharmacy, filled the medication, and came home. I was dressed
casually, wearing a hat and a mask.
The swelling right now is just a little puffy on my cheeks, so it's acceptable. It's only a small amount, but I'm a little worried about the 2-3 days before the swelling will be the most.
It's still the first day, so I don't know if it went well or not, so I'll watch the progress a little more and leave a review.
