This is a review of the under-eye fat relocation surgery.
I am a man in my 40s and have lived my life without paying much attention to beauty. In fact, it still is like that. Starting in my late 30s, the fat under my eyes began to appear little by little, and the distinction from the tear troughs became clearer, and the so-called dark circles became more severe. It was especially noticeable the day after I drank alcohol.
Even on a normal day, I often heard that the area under the eyes looked puffy and tired, so after looking at various things on the Internet or YouTube, I found out about fat relocation under the eyes and started searching for plastic surgery. Of course, I got a lot of information from this site as well.
I visited about 3 places, and the first 2 places all recommended lower eyelid surgery, but I was a little scared because they said there was no time and that I would have to cut off the skin, so I just got a consultation and left. I had already looked up the cost estimate, but during the actual consultation, various things were added, so the cost became more. Also, I didn't really want to get a lower eyelid surgery because I could get it done later when I'm older.
Lastly, I visited Thank You Plastic Surgery Clinic and had a chat with Dr. Hojun Lee. He consulted for over 30 minutes and gave me detailed advice from the beginning. Please advise everyone very kindly. The director told me that it was still too early to do a lower eyelid surgery, so let's just do fat relocation first. He honestly told me what I might not like after repositioning,,,, I trusted him, signed a contract, and had the surgery a month later.
Similar to others, the surgery took less than an hour and there was no pain. Perhaps because I took good care after the surgery, there were no bruises and the swelling started to gradually go down from the second week onwards.
As I wrote in the beginning, I am in my 40s and do not wear sunscreen and do a lot of outdoor activities, so photoaging is severe and I have a lot of wrinkles. It wasn't as vibrant and elastic as it was in my 20s, so I didn't have any desire to completely get rid of wrinkles in the first place, and my expectations weren't high enough to be satisfied with just improvement. There are some things I have to deal with due to my age.
The photos above are before surgery, one week after surgery, and one month after surgery.
Personally, I am very satisfied and it feels good to no longer hear people say that I look tired.
I think it looks best when there is some swelling after the second week. They say it may turn off little by little over the next few months, so we'll have to wait and see.
Thank you for reading this long post, and since it is not a major surgery, I wrote it to recommend it to middle-aged people like me who are in poor health.
