ㅊㄷㅊ Review of nose
surgery, consultation for revision surgery, preferring a natural and straight nose, drooping nose tip
I currently have a drooping nose tip from surgery on my ear cartilage and nasal septum, and I like the height between my eyebrows, so I'm looking into improving the tip of my nose.
I made an appointment for a consultation after seeing other reviews from Seongye Clinic!
Maybe because it was a weekday, there was almost no waiting time, but I took photos and a CT scan right away, had a brief chat with the director, watched a video, and met the doctor.
Consultation fee was 25,000 won
. It was actually a revision nose surgery, but I didn't really think about it the first time, so I didn't know much about it, but it was nice to be able to organize it all in a video. But I think a Seongye Clinic that knows a lot about nose surgery doesn't need to see this...
- Consultation with the doctor (about 25 minutes)
The height between my eyebrows remains the same, but the silicone on the bridge of the nose is thick, so it could be lowered.
They told me to choose between autologous rib and donated rib for the tip of my nose, and showed me a paper comparing donated rib and autologous rib, and told me that autologous rib is better than donated rib in terms of infection and absorption, but there is not much difference. I will just use my own rib even if I die - I absolutely hate autologous rib, scars, and rib pain - so I chose donated rib.
Since it is a hospital famous for functional noses, they also checked rhinitis, and they can check the inferior turbinate, but it is not necessary (personal choice).
I asked if it was a contracture or inflammation symptom, and they said no because the tip of the nose should not move if it is contracture,
so I was relieved. They did virtual plastic surgery on a tablet?! They had similar ideas as me, which was to focus on the tip of the nose and leave the rest as is. I liked
that they looked at it thoroughly.
- Price
I was worried because I heard it was expensive on Seongyesa, but it seems cheaper than other hospitals famous for reoperations. It's cheaper than I thought, but it's still expensive.
- Aftercare
for 1 year, swelling laser, scar care bruise cream, ointment, etc. provided
- I'm worried
because there are a lot of things to choose from, whether to get rib donation, autologous rib/rhinitis surgery or not... I think I'll have to think about it a bit more!
