33.0 (CT taken) This is my first nose surgery. First consultation, I
fill out a chart of what to discuss first, wait, and then go in for a consultation with the director.
In the consultation review, I saw a lot of negative comments about the director speaking informally and saying I was too confident, but I didn't feel that at all.
While looking at the CT scan and the chart, he told me that this was not possible for this reason, and instead showed me a 3D shape that he thought could fit into any shape. And the surgery method was explained in detail so it was easy to understand.
I have a really low, small, flared and raised nose. All I want is to improve the shape. The height doesn't have to be high, but it would be nice if the shape is thin, so I used IU and Jennie as examples.
So, I
melted the filler (even though the nose filler was melted, it still remained...)
Silicone on the bridge of the nose (I didn't ask how many millimeters it was. If you use a custom one, additional cost is added),
Elevated the tip of the nose (using ear cartilage to extend the nose length), and
silicone on the beak (since the right and left cartilage heights are different) They said they would grind the tooth out of fear it would tip when going in)
and if necessary, an osteotomy in the operating room (they said it probably wouldn't be necessary)
. I received an estimate like this, and the total cost was in the mid 500s...
First of all, I am a local person, but I had a huge distrust of local hospitals... so I would never go to a local hospital. I went to the consultation because I just wanted to know what my nose was like with the thought that I should do it.
But the director here explained things in a very detailed and easy-to-understand way, so I gained trust.
He showed me that this can be done in 3D, and also showed me before and after photos of a case similar to mine and the surgery method.
My nose was very lifted, so I was trying to lower the tip of my nose. He showed me a picture of how to lower the tip of my nose using ear cartilage and explained how the surgery was performed. I asked if the fixation would be good if I used ear cartilage, and they said that there are hard materials called nasal septum, autologous ribs, and donor ribs, and if you build a support using these materials, the nose will be very hard. However, they said that my nasal septum itself was small and that my costal cartilage was originally bent, so there was a possibility that it would gradually become bent. Since my ears are small, he said that he had to use the inner ear cartilage as much as possible. He said that he would try to keep the shape of my ears as intact as possible, and that both ears have different shapes, but after the surgery, one ear would go in slightly and become similar. The doctor said that he would use ear cartilage for surgery. He seemed confident and professional, so I thought it was a bit like that.
While I was waiting, I looked at the booklet next to me, and in the before and after photos, even people with short noses like me had the tip of their noses down nicely, which gave me a sense of trust.
I was really nervous because it was my first time, but there was no need to be that nervous.. hahahaha. Actually, maybe because I was so nervous, I didn't ask a few questions... I'll consult with other hospitals and if I'm inclined to go this way, I'll go for another consultation! But, like other reviews, I'm a little concerned about the cost. It's my first surgery, and I think mid-$500 is a lot.

Oh, and if you don't know what your nose is like, I recommend getting a CT scan and getting a consultation. This was the first time I realized that my cartilage was spread out like this and had different heights on both sides, and that the highest part of my nose was higher than the tip of my nose.
