My nose is already damaged from many surgeries and I am very weak physically and mentally.
In fact, the two hospitals are not very famous, but the fact that they are one-person hospitals, that they do not perform more than two surgeries a day, and that I looked into various sites and YouTube reviews, the biggest merit was that they specialize in reconstructed noses. Although
I did not have a reconstructed nose, I thought that I could fix my nose if it was a hospital that could do surgeries of that level, so I visited both places in the morning and afternoon. (Actually, I wanted to look into other places, but I didn’t have enough stamina.)
Consultation
fee: 10,000 won / Consultation in the order of director > manager.
- CT scan upon arrival, 15 minutes later, the director begins consultation, and while looking at the CT images, he records one by one the number of surgeries I have had in total and starts explaining things very thoroughly while slowly asking questions. Currently, the bridge of my nose is sunken and my nostrils are stuck in the crease. They said that the skin on the silicone side of the nose bridge may need to be lowered because it is too thin. On top of that, I have to take care of the stenosis near my nostrils, and the two donated ribs have already been absorbed and fallen down to the tip of my nose. (I didn’t know my condition was this bad before, but when I heard the story, it seemed like my constructed nose was at the level of being a no-brainer.)
- They said I should use my own rib for the nose bridge / They said I should use Alloderm or silicone for the bridge of my nose (They recommend Alloderm a bit more because they say it has far fewer side effects than silicone) / They said they would use ribs taken from the scalp in the affected area and that I would need general anesthesia. (I was a little concerned about general anesthesia)
- 20 minutes passed quickly as we talked about this and that. I almost cried when they patted my shoulder, saying that I must have had a hard time... In fact, I’ve been to many consultations and had many surgeries, but I’ve never seen a doctor who listens to my story so calmly and explains everything. He answers all my questions with a smile.
- After that, I started talking to the director. There was no pressure to make a reservation at all. I talked to the director for 20 minutes and then to the director for about 7 minutes. It was a consultation where we reviewed what the director had said.
- Overall: The staff were friendly. In particular, the consultation with the director was really good.
ㄷㅎㄷ
Consultation fee: None / Consultation was done in the order of director > manager.
- After arriving and waiting for a bit, I took a CT scan while wearing radiation protection? clothes (this was my first time here). I think I waited for about 30 minutes due to the director’s surgery.
- She looked a bit exhausted, probably because she had just had surgery. I saw another review that said she seemed to have a tsundere style, and she was exactly like that. Still, she explained calmly and very well, and it went right into my ears. While looking at the CT, she explained almost similarly to the content above. My nose bridge is currently 4.5mm, and when I asked if I could make it higher because I wanted it higher, she firmly said that my skin was thin and that she could do it if I wanted, but that it had to be lowered because there could be side effects.
- Since existing donated ribs cannot be used anyway, autologous ribs were used, donated dermis was used to supplement the thinned nasal bridge skin, silicone was used, general anesthesia (incision 1.5 cm/autologous rib can be harvested within 30 minutes) Possible to improve the wrinkled area (I can't remember the name of the material ㅈㅅ)
- I think we consulted for about 10 minutes and he asked me to tell him what else I wanted to ask, and he explained it simply and well so I didn't have any more questions.
- I started talking to the director, there was no pressure to make a reservation. First of all, he was very kind and seemed to have as much expertise as the director (should I say it's the composure that comes from being experienced..?) He showed me pictures of patients who were in a similar situation to mine and we had a really fun conversation. I think it was over 20 minutes just talking. There are video reviews of surgeries performed by the director on YouTube, and when I saw them in person, they turned out very naturally. I think I had more faith in the person who actually got the surgery in front of my own eyes.
- Overall: As expected, the staff were kind. The director's consultation wasn't that long, but it was nice that he just got to the point.
Since there aren't many reviews for the two hospitals, I thought there might be some people who are curious, so I left a review. As expected, the price is expensive because it's a second surgery.
I made a reservation for surgery at one of these two hospitals at the end of May. I won't say which one. I'll write a proper review later after the surgery to see if it went well or not.
That's all for now~:)
