1. I am curious about the amount of bleeding during surgery.
- In our hospital, because the amount of bleeding is not high, patients are discharged on the day of surgery without having to wear a hemobag (blood pressure) and without being hospitalized.
The amount of bleeding during square jaw surgery varies from patient to patient, but the longer the resection extends to the front jaw, the greater the amount of bleeding.
However, since the direction of surgery that Mr. ㅇㅇ wants is to focus on resection of the mandibular angle, bleeding and swelling are unlikely to occur.
(For your information, I said I did not want a frontal effect.)
2. Are there any large blood vessels that could pose a threat to life during square jaw surgery?
- They are located deep behind the ears. However, it is difficult to access because there are multiple layers of membrane.
There is little chance of bursting that blood vessel.
3. I have seen cases where the mouth became narrow after square jaw surgery. Is this a side effect of square jaw surgery?
- no.
4. After square jaw surgery, the masseter muscles go up, the neck muscles go down, and the mouth depressors go up,
resulting in an S-shaped curved jaw line (shown in the photo). What is the cause of the jaw line becoming so uneven?
- If the square jaw is excised excessively, the amount of bone to which the muscles should be attached is reduced, which may cause it to become uneven.
In other words, the cause is over-moderation.
5. How do long bones come out after square jaw resection?
I understand that the incision area is 4 to 5 cm inside the mouth.
