many people are curious and I think I won't be paying much attention to my nose anymore, so I'm uploading a quick photo review ㅎㅎ
※ Surgical method ※
• First surgery: 4 years ago at a university hospital rhinitis + septal deviation + artificial dermis for the bridge of the nose + septal cartilage support for the tip of the nose
-> My rhinitis was so bad that I couldn't breathe through my left nostril at all. I lived for 20 years breathing only through my right nostrilㅠ I received cyst removal, sinusitis treatment, and septal deviation treatment at a university hospital for functional purposes, and I wasn't interested in plastic surgery at the time. Since I was getting my nose done anyway, I was asked if I wanted rhinoplasty at the same time, so I didn't want any side effects, so I had the surgery without using silicone.
• Results of first surgery
-> Saddle nose due to weak nasal septum cartilage during treatment for septal deviation (
bridge of nose becomes bumpy) -> When viewed from the front, the tip of the nose becomes blunt as if beads were placed on it (bulged nose)
-> 99% of artificial dermis is absorbed over 4 years (returns to original nose height)
• Reoperation: Scar removal + bridge of nose - glabella - retroauricular fascia, saddle nose area - retroauricular fascia + tip of nose septum cartilage, double support of ear cartilage + tip mosaic transplant Ear cartilage, septum cartilage, retroauricular fascia + nasolabial angle surgery
• Reasons for failure of first surgery & Reoperation process
-> The reason I got a saddle nose was because my nasal septum cartilage was thinner and weaker than my ear cartilage (The nasal septum cartilage was recycled and overlapped with the ear cartilage to create a double support)
-> The reason it was blunt was because there was a lot of scar (The scar was removed and cartilage tissue was peeled off)
-> The artificial dermis was completely absorbed and only the remaining lumps around the bridge of the nose were scraped off and removed
-> Retroauricular fascia was inserted into the area between the eyebrows, the saddle nose, and the upper part of the philtrum (nasolabial angle plastic surgery)
-> The tip of the nose was too low, so ear cartilage and septal cartilage (recycled) were grafted onto the support and raised
-> Retroauricular fascia was raised on top of the tip cartilage graft to prevent the tip cartilage from showing
-> Ear cartilage was grafted to the chin area between the bridge of the nose and the tip while raising only the tip of the nose
• Results of revision surgery
-> Side: Improvement of the bumpy nose bridge, Improvement of the blunt and low nose tip, Columella that was not there before was created, Nasolabial angle got bigger
-> Front: The bridge of the nose near the eyebrows looks slightly thicker (it wasn't there at all before), The tip of the nose that looked like beads were placed on it became thinner, The mouth that used to look protruding went in a little bit.
That was my surgery story lol
Those who are busy, just look at the photos lol
Whenever I decide to do something new, I'm the type of person who delves into the theory and studies a lot, (probably because I If you've seen the rhinoplasty information post... I think you can guess my personality ㅠㅠ... I'm a note-taker! ㅠㅠ)
On the contrary, when I didn't know anything, plastic surgery was easy,
but the more I studied and learned, the more I became scared of the side effects
of implants. There weren't many places on the Internet that explained in detail the side effects (especially contracture) caused by implants and the process of contracture. Based on what I studied and studied, I went to consultations and asked doctors about contracture, side effects, and inflammation, and the answers I got were along the lines of,
"Knowing too much detail isn't good for the patient, and if you're worried about it that much, it's better not to use implants."
One doctor said that the actual risk of side effects from silicone, not statistically, is about ㅁ%, and that if the medical community actually has this much of a side effect rate, then it might be right to stop getting rhinoplasty.
After studying and studying and deciding to get rhinoplasty, my number one priority was safety! This time, I really wanted to live my life without worrying about my nose after getting rhinoplasty ㅋㅋㅋㅋ That's why I looked around and finally decided to get the surgery at ㄱㅇㅈ Plastic Surgery.
I think the swelling goes down quickly, but it's been 9 days and I don't think there's much swelling yet. The hospital also said that I think the shape has come out now, and I hope that for the next 6 months, I'll take care of the scar and the swelling will go down and it will look a little thinner. ㅎㅎ
In fact, since I had the surgery safely without touching my nose too much, it looks natural, and it's inevitable that there won't be any dramatic changes. ㅎㅎ
If you compare the pictures with just my nose, it looks quite different, but when other people see it with their own eyes, they'll say, "Huh? She looks strangely prettier. What changed?" ㅋㅋㅋ
If I didn't tell them that I got rhinoplasty, I don't think anyone would know!
But plastic surgery is about self-satisfaction!
I'm not 100% satisfied, but I'm more than 90% satisfied because the flaws in my nose that I wanted to fix - maybe only my eyes could see - have improved naturally without showing any signs of surgery!
** I benefited from something unexpected, the corners of my lips got prettier ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Before the surgery, every time I looked in the mirror, I thought I wanted to get lip corner surgery, but after the rhinoplasty, I didn't have those thoughts even when I looked in the mirror??? So I took a closer look,
Before the surgery, my mouth was plump, so when I had a blank expression, the length was short and the corners of my mouth were droopy. After the surgery, my mouth was slightly protruding, but as it improved, the protruding part became flat? As it straightened, the corners of my mouth became straight and the length became longer when I had a blank expression! Before the surgery, I didn't think about the corners of my mouth at all, so I didn't take a picture with a blank expression, so I was looking through my photo album and only found a half-side picture. The picture of my mouth after the surgery is of me with a blank expression and only with lip balm on! My mouth has become strangely pretty, right? ㅎㅎ
※ About the side effects of silicone ※
-> I am skeptical about silicone and other implants. There are no side effects and they are safe. ㅎㅎ Those who say, "It's been a few years and there are no problems," just move on... I think I know more.
-> I will take the side effects and use silicone! It is my personal choice and I respect it. In some cases, there are people who are really stressed and depressed because of their appearance, and there are cases where silicone is absolutely necessary for improvement. In fact, some people say they will get it removed when side effects occur, and others are more satisfied with their appearance even though they are scared. I respect your personal choice, but I hope you do a lot of research and study before making a careful decision. I hope something is developed that everyone can become pretty without worrying about side effects.
※ About choosing a surgical method ※
• Want to change dramatically from your current appearance -> You have to touch your nose a lot -> It's dangerous
• Want to change naturally from your current appearance -> Your nose is less touched -> It's relatively safe
. These two things don't change.
I think there are things you have to accept to some extent and have the surgery
. It seems too greedy to want to change dramatically while having the surgery safely without touching your nose a lot.
Safety was my top priority, so I avoided all the places that talked about osteotomy, donated costal cartilage and implants, septal lengthening, etc. when I went for consultations.
Of course, what I wrote is not the right answer. Some people may not be satisfied even if it looks too natural. I think it's important to find a hospital and doctor who can perform the surgery that you are satisfied with. :)
※ Oh, and about the flat nose!
Before my first surgery, my flat nose wasn't that flat.ㅜ So after removing the scar and lifting the tip of my nose, it seems to have become somewhat flatter.
Usually, people with a flat nose need to raise the tip of their nose to a certain degree to improve, but they say that you need to raise the tip of your nose more than you think to improve it.. Then, it may be inevitable to use silicone while raising the tip of your nose. Of course, it depends a little on why you have a flat nose.
I started writing a review, but as I wrote this and that, the post became long. ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
But I wanted to talk to those who are studying rhinoplasty, getting surgery, and having the same concerns!
Here are the rhinoplasty information articles I wrote before... There are some parts that I didn't upload because they were annoying, but if there are people who want me to upload everything, I'll upload them again! ㅎㅎ
If you have any questions, please send me a message or leave a comment anytime! I'll answer anytime until the day I enter Seongye Temple. ㅎㅎㅎ...
++ What you see on the side of the nose in the photo after frontal surgery is a wet band!
Let's all have safe and pretty plastic surgery♡ Thank you!
