Proxy surgery doctor: While admitting that they entrusted or replaced the skin suture surgery, they argued that it could be considered 'nursing or medical assistance work'. They also argued that proxy surgery was inevitable in the medical reality and that it was not a dangerous surgery, and appealed for a reduced sentence.
Court response: "Based on CCTV and fact-finding from the medical community, it is acknowledged that the risk was not great," but pointed out that "just because it was not great does not mean it is not dangerous. From the patient's perspective, proxy surgery is very risky. Patients exercised their right to choose to have the surgery done by a doctor, but the defendants betrayed that."
