Here is my actual review of the double eyelid surgery! I wrote it as is, without any editing, for the purpose of a level-up post.
It is my first surgery! I made a list of hospitals based on recommendations from acquaintances without much thought.
However, my friends all got it done in middle and high school, so they didn’t know what to do and got it done at large hospitals ㅠㅠ So after thinking about it, I ended up only having ㅇㄴㅂ left, so I went there for a quick consultation!
The criteria for selecting the hospital were small hospitals with 1-2 people, more than 15 years of experience, an anesthesiologist on staff, CCTV installed, no excessive advertising or reviews, and whether or not they were on a blacklist. For reference, I thoroughly checked the hospital director’s career and excluded anyone who had worked at a blacklisted hospital. It was
sooooo hard to find a hospital ㅜㅜㅜ It’s so hard to just make a list… There’s no place you can trust on the internet ㅜ
So I quickly went to ㅇㄴㅂ, the only hospital that survived recommendations from acquaintances, and got a consultation! The introduction was long… I’ll get into the full-fledged review~!
First of all, it met all the criteria for selecting the hospital listed above! From the time I made the appointment, the staff were all friendly! Sometimes I read reviews saying that the consultation wait was really long, but I waited for about 10 minutes? and went straight into the consultation. Maybe it was because I went during the off-season. The hospital was close to the station and very clean and shiny. It didn’t seem to be very large. I had my consultation with the director first.
While waiting before the consultation, I looked at the before-and-after photos. The hospital had made them into a booklet. Haha.. But honestly, I didn’t like them that much. When I consulted with the director, he showed me a lot of review photos, but I didn’t really like any of them because I have high eyes.
I definitely thought about getting an epicanthoplasty and an incision. Since my eyes are so narrow, everyone around me said that I should get an epicanthoplasty. I was worried about the side effects of an epicanthoplasty, but since my eyes are so closed, I went anyway.
But I was a little disappointed because there weren’t any reviews that I liked. I think Dr. Jang prefers to make it round overall..? The double eyelids seem to be done very naturally, but now that I think about it, I think they don't really use Photoshop.
The photos you showed me were all explicit photos, and the swelling wasn't gone down, so you could see the redness. Most of them were after 1-3 months, so considering that, it was okay.
And the consultation with the director was short... I think it was only 5 minutes. I have a bit of asymmetry in my eyes, so they only did one side, and they didn't say anything about the thickness or shape of the line. If you don't ask questions first, they don't really explain things actively. The estimate was for 3 options: front incision, incision, and eye correction. They explained the surgical methods for the incision and front incision, but they didn't mention the eye correction separately. However, they seemed very professional. It could just be my imagination, but... I trusted them because they were confident, had a lot of experience, and had worked at the same hospital for a long time without any bad reviews.
In fact, my friend got burial here and it turned out really well. They seem to be better at natural adhesion and burial than incision.
There was no deposit requirement, but it was a bit odd that they said that I had to make a reservation on the same day to get a discount, but the consultation was friendly. I consulted for about 40 minutes, and I only spent 5 minutes with the director, but I felt that the director was very attentive. It didn't feel like a peddler, but for a plastic surgery clinic, it seemed quite conscientious. The price was in the mid-to-late 200s, which felt a bit expensive... But since there aren't many trustworthy hospitals, I'm putting it on my list.
If you're thinking about natural adhesion, I recommend getting a consultation! Still, it seems like a pretty safe hospital. The staff is also friendly. Of course, I'm going to think about it a bit more... I'll come back with a review of another hospital and double eyelid surgery!
