I had double jaw surgery in February of 2013, and it is now August 20, so
7 years and 6 months have already passed.
I am satisfied. Even if I go back to 7 years ago, I will definitely do it.
Although it is not an easy operation, the reason for the decision was that there were originally a lot of severe malocclusions, and I heard that it was a severe malocclusion that was in the top 3% at the hospital. It was a situation that had to be done functionally and cosmetically.
In such a situation, I think you will be able to tolerate the discomfort of eating or swelling for about a month after the operation.
In summary, the advantage is that, frankly, it is a huge advantage to return to normal from cosmetically abnormal. Of course, the uncomfortable eating before surgery has improved, but the best thing is that the way people look at it has changed a lot. Another thing is that it's a really big surgery compared to the nose and eyes, but since it's not a visible part, it's the least noticeable.
The downside is that, to tell you something that people who are still planning to have surgery may have overlooked, even though I had the surgery from a really famous and close to the number one doctor, I have a bit of numbness on one side of my face. The 4cm area next to the lip is too dull and I usually worry about it. It could not be solved with time. However, I am giving up and living with the feeling of holding on to this extent because my quality of life has changed after surgery.
This is my overall opinion after surgery, and if you have any questions, please leave a comment.
