Since I was a child, I have had a class 3 malocclusion, with my lower teeth coming further forward than my upper teeth. So, when I was in elementary school, I corrected my chin by wearing a chin brace, but as I entered puberty, my chin gradually started to come out again. I was stressed about not being able to chew food with my front teeth due to my chin protruding and making my chin look longer, so I decided to get double jaw surgery. While looking for a hospital that would perform double jaw surgery, I came across Y Mouth and Maxillofacial Surgery on YouTube. I thought it was really good that they performed one surgery a day, so I chose Y Mouth and Maxillofacial Surgery. When I first went to the hospital for a consultation, the manager in charge was very kind and I trusted him because he simply told me what I needed to say. I decided to undergo surgery for 6 months. The day before surgery, I bought the necessary post-surgery supplies (New Care, sauce bottle, electrolyte drink, etc.) and ate foods that I would not be able to eat for a long time after surgery (hamburgers, grilled meat) before fasting. I arrived at the hospital 30 minutes before the surgery, listened to the director's explanation, washed my face, and gargled. When the time came, I went into the operating room and lay down, and I think I fell asleep right away as soon as the anesthetic gas was administered. I started the surgery around 10:20 and finished around 1:20. When I woke up from anesthesia, the first thing I did was check my face in the mirror, but there were so many things on my face that it was difficult to see how my face had changed. Because it was the first day, I felt a little pain, but more than that, my nose was swollen, so I couldn't breathe through my nose, and I could only breathe through my mouth, so it was very difficult to breathe. Also, I couldn't stand up because of the urinating rope, so my butt really hurt. I did nothing this day and just focused on breathing. So I stayed up all night with very little sleep. Around 6 a.m., the nurse removed the hose and urinal from my nose. When I took the hose out of my nose, I could breathe much easier than before. I can now stand up after removing the urinal, and the pain in my butt is much better. Around 10 a.m., the director removed the blood bag. After removing the stuff from my face the day before, I felt much more comfortable than the day before. I got all the sleep I couldn't get the night before. I was prescribed medication and discharged around 10 am.  It was nice to come home after a long time. Because I had to tie my mouth for two weeks, I could only eat liquids. So I ate only New Care for three meals a day. This was my first time eating New Care, and it was better than I expected and I enjoyed it. But since I put it in a sauce container, it took me a long time to eat it... Since I couldn't brush my teeth after eating it, I gargled with the Hexamedin they prescribed. My face started to feel more and more swollen after I was discharged from the hospital. I couldn't sleep well that day because my nose was stuffy. My nose was cleared up on the 5th day and I felt more comfortable. But I was tired of eating New Care all the time and had a hard time. Still, I had to take the medicine, so I took it diligently. The swelling peaked on the 6th day. I used ice packs until the 4th day and then hot packs from then on. <1~2 weeks> When it had been exactly a week since the surgery, I visited the hospital and had the doctor check the condition of the surgical area and have it disinfected. As a week passed, the swelling started to go down faster. Now that I can breathe easier, I have started to develop an appetite that I never had before. So from this point on, eating only New Care three meals a day was the most difficult. So from this point on, I just waited for the second week to change to a larger rubber band. Finally, two weeks after the long-awaited surgery, I visited the hospital. The doctor removed the stitches, but I only felt a little tingling and it didn't hurt.  He also changed it to a larger rubber band, and since I had to do it alone at home, he taught me how to put it on. It was really hard to put it on at first, but now I've got the hang of it and it's easy to put it on. Now I can remove the wafers when eating, so I can eat food with some substance. However, since I couldn't chew it, I ate foods that could be dissolved in my mouth and swallowed (castella, soup, porridge, etc.). I had beef and vegetable porridge for the first time, and it was really delicious after eating only New Care. Afterwards, I ate soft tofu stew, noodles, and udon noodles cut into small pieces, and my quality of life really improved a lot compared to when I only ate New Care. Now, in the second week, I think the hardest thing is not being able to chew food and having to swallow it. I think double jaw surgery really takes time. The 3rd day after surgery is the hardest, but if you last a week, you will feel much better. As the swelling goes down and my chin, which was complex before, looks different now, I think it was a really good decision to have double jaw surgery. I hope my review will be helpful to those who are about to undergo double jaw surgery or are considering it!
