Hello.! I started orthodontic treatment at Combichi Dental Clinic in Myeongdong, Seoul about 6 years ago, and received orthodontic treatment for about a year.
(Started in October 2018 ~ Finished in December 2019)
My teeth, including my jawbone, are much smaller than other people (childlike), and my teeth are unusually weak, so they get damaged easily.
Compared to the average orthodontic treatment speed, the treatment was completed quite quickly.! Before orthodontic treatment, my teeth were protruding - my mouth didn't close properly even when I closed it tightly, and it was slightly protruding. My tongue is also a bit short, and because of the structure of my mouth, my tongue was often bitten and my pronunciation was also bitten, so I had a hard time pronouncing words
with double consonants or the sound "ㄹ". I heard that orthodontic treatment is possible without having my wisdom teeth extracted, but that the inside of my mouth might get sucked in when they are extracted.
I had a steel prosthetic device and a rubber ring, and I spent the orthodontic treatment period feeling tingly. The sharp canines were ground down here and there to give them a pretty shape. My satisfaction after orthodontic treatment was 4.5 out of 5 stars.
This is because I experienced common side effects after orthodontic treatment: receding gums + gingivitis/periodontal inflammation. I think the gingivitis could have been because I didn't floss my teeth properly during orthodontic treatment. However, I think the receding gums are a common side effect that many people experience due to the weight of the prosthetic device + the pressure that goes into orthodontic treatment. It's really unfortunate, but even now that I don't have a transparent orthodontic retainer (I lost it and it's been about 3 years since I've had it done), my teeth are aligned pretty evenly!
It used to be a one-person specialist hospital, but it's been going so well that they expanded and added two more specialists, so
the hospital is always crowded! Please make a reservation in advance and go.
All the staff, including the desk staff, are very kind. They are not rude or sloppy, but clearly point out the cause of the problem and the treatment method. They explain it at a child's level.
I also received nerve treatment - they really look at it thoroughly. I highly recommend it!
