Nerve review: Double jaw surgery involves cutting bone, meaning the skin must be left exposed. In other words, the skin is pulled outward, which means the nerves are pulled. The nerves become paralyzed as they are strained, and the nerves, which are slow-recovering tissues, have no sensation at all for a month after surgery, but slowly return with heterogeneous sensations. I’m not going to lie, it seems like it took a year and a half to two years for everything to get back to normal..? The sensation returns in 1-2 months, but this is different from the sensation felt by other skin. A very foreign feeling. To use an analogy, the feeling you get when you remove the tissue that has been surrounded by something for 15 years and stroke it...? Anyway, it will eventually return to normal, but it will take a very long time, so please be patient... For your information, I was the last to regain sensation at the tip of my chin, and it took the longest for the foreign sensation to return to normal.
Swelling review: The face looks like someone biting an orange on each cheek. This lasts for about a month, and the unnatural swelling lasts for about 2 months. Minor swelling subsides over 6 months to 1 year. Even after two months, when I look in the mirror, I feel like I have some kind of lumpy bump.
Double jaw surgery is one of the largest surgeries that changes the appearance of the face. Therefore, it is strongly recommended that the surgery be performed at an oral and maxillofacial surgery clinic at a dental hospital rather than a plastic surgery clinic. Cost is also an important factor, but I know that the face is important, and it is a face that I will have for the rest of my life, so do the surgery safely. People with money can easily recommend university hospitals because they are performed at general hospitals, so if anything happens during the surgery, immediate action can be taken, and since the professor performs the surgery, safety is the best. effect: My nose got a little bigger. There are two causes for this. The first is that the muscles next to the nose are strained during the surgery, so the tip of the nose and wings of the nose actually spread out to the sides. Second, the nose was not prominent due to the large chin, but now that the chin has become smaller, the nose has drawn more attention. Before the surgery, I had no idea about my nose, but after the surgery, I could only see my nose. But when I looked at the pre-surgery photos, I realized that my nose was bigger. In other words, as the chin becomes smaller, the presence of the nose becomes relatively larger.
The second side effect is sinusitis/rhinitis. I never had rhinitis in my life, but for two years after the surgery, whenever I ate, I used as many tissues as I could to wipe away the runny nose and pus (inflammation), I kept sneezing, and pus would flow even when I was still. It's gotten a lot better now, but I really suffered from sinusitis.
Even if I go back to that time, I think I will have double jaw surgery again at a university hospital.
