I had the surgery in January 2021, so it's been over 2 years..
Since I have a protruding mouth and no chin, after doing a lot of research,
I thought I could do ASO surgery and chin advancement.
But when I went to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon for a consultation, they said it was a case of double jaw surgery. ㅠㅠ
After much consideration, I received consultation at a university hospital and decided to have surgery.
They said ASO surgery was impossible because the airway was narrow, so I decided to have a missionary correction and surgery even though there was no problem with the dentition.
I extracted orthodontic teeth for about a year
and then had the surgery. It didn't hurt as much as I thought, but it was really hard for a month.
The hardest part was not being able to eat . Be sure to eat a lot of what you want to eat before the surgery... You will lose weight after the surgery anyway, so don't go on a diet.
In the end, the surgery was successful, and although my temporomandibular joint became weaker,
all my senses came back and there were no side effects!
It's the best surgery I've ever had.
