This is the 30th day after two jaw surgery.
The tingling pain in my chin almost disappeared in the first week, but
my lips and cheeks are still very swollen...
Those who have prepared or completed surgery
will be very concerned about the swelling management, so I think it would be good to refer to it.
(I refer to the advice of the head of the hospital + Western acquaintances a lot)
After orthognathic surgery, a different approach is needed
than nose or eye surgery.
Usually, swelling disappears 4 weeks after surgery, but
in the end, care is important, so I'll let you know!!
1. Discharge ~ 1st week
It is the most severe condition in the 1st week, and the swelling has decreased little by little since then
.
-Keep a liquid diet (milk shake, non-acidic juice, smoothie, etc.)
-Prohibited foods (carbonated drinks/alcohol, sodium and irritating foods)
-Ice pack until the 3rd day, and warm pack with a chin pad after the 4th day!!
2. Weeks 1 to 2 Swelling
is reduced significantly compared to Week 1 and the condition is restored
-Five or more meals a day, increasing the frequency
-Eat rice or porridge, and take in nutrients through snacks in addition to meals
- Frequent hydration, light walking (moving fast x)
3. Week 2~4
There are individual differences depending on the constitution, but when the condition recovers a lot
- You can eat porridge/soup (stimulating food x)
- Intensity Avoid exercising too much or moving too much.
Swelling after surgery can be more swollen than expected, and
the process of swelling in the morning and falling out in the evening
can be repeated.
Adjust your eating habits every day + warm compresses + light walking.
