It's currently the 21st day after orthodontic treatment. I'm going to write about what happened so far, what my current condition is, and what I'm worried about in the future.
First of all, I had IVRO surgery near Nonhyeon Station (if I say this much, you know where it is). On the
first day of orthodontic treatment, I changed clothes, put a needle in my arm, and went into the operating room. When I think back on it, I was really scared. My heart was beating so fast that I could hear the sound of the electrocardiogram machine. So the nurse put an oxygen mask on me to calm me down. Thinking about it now, I
feel a little embarrassed haha. They often talk about the bitter taste and counting and things like that when the anesthetic comes in, but I didn't even know when the anesthetic came in and I just passed out while breathing with an oxygen mask on.
When I woke up, my whole face felt tingly and dizzy, and I was irritated because they kept waking me up. It was a feeling and feeling I had never experienced before, so I didn't want to stay awake even for a second. So you're losing your mind anymore? I don't think it was set up. My jaw is rattling, I feel tingly, I feel sleepy... I really don't want to go through that again.
My nose is so stuffed that I can't breathe through my nose at all. This is okay because I don't tie my mouth until the second day, but if I tie it on the third day, it becomes very frustrating. I have really bad allergic rhinitis and sinusitis, and I have a deviated septum and my nasal cavity is narrower than that of an average adult, so it was really difficult. The nurse even said that it was difficult to intubate the tube, so I told you everything. And don't misunderstand, people hurt after surgery
. To say that there is no pain does not mean that it does not hurt at all, but because the other discomforts are much greater, it is felt relatively less. Even with the pain relief injection, my face still feels tingly and throbbing.
Personally, I found it that much more painful to line my arms than my face and put the antibiotics in.
The swelling started to get worse as each day went by, compared to the first day. It's been a week? It peaked like a real bun, and after that, it gradually went down, but now, on the 21st day, it has gone down a lot. The minor swelling goes away for 6 months to a year, so I hope you don't feel disappointed and depressed when you see your face right after the surgery.. You can eat for up to a week
. I just ate a lot of New Care. I didn't want to lose weight, so I forced myself to eat about 8 to 10 pieces a day, and after two weeks, I ground up the porridge almost like rice cake and swallowed it. When I saw a review video on YouTube, it said to cut the Chapagetti into small pieces and swallow it, so I tried following it, but it wasn't easy... I quickly gave up and survived with porridge and New Care. After going to the outpatient clinic for the 3rd week, I was told I could chew without the wafer, so I tried ramen as soon as I got home, but my mouth structure changed completely, so I had to learn how to chew again... I couldn't chew it properly. The inside of my mouth was still very swollen, so I had a hard time eating ramen with a lot of noodles. And on this day, I experienced my front teeth meeting for the first time in my life. I was thrilled.
Since we're talking about eating, I can't help but talk about the senses. Since the lower jaw is an IVRO, there is no loss of sense at all, but the problem is that the palate, upper gums, philtrum, and left lip have lost sense. It's not that it's not there at all, but it feels very dull, the tingling sensation is strong, and because the sensation in the palate disappears, I can't even taste the food. They say there are cells in the roof of the mouth that sense taste. They say the sense comes back slowly, but we'll have to wait and see.
This is what I've felt so far. I want to recover quickly, eat delicious food, and exercise.
