I am the owner of a really serious open bite... But, annoyingly, I am the kind of dog who has to pay all the money to have orthodontic treatment because it is not enough to be covered by insurance. I am the owner of a cursed lower jaw. At first, I knew that it
was not a jaw problem, but a dental problem, so I went to a local dentist and started orthodontic treatment. That
was when I was a freshman in high school. The doctor was so overconfident that he said he was the best at orthodontic treatment in the area and that it would be completed in 2 years, so foolishly, my mom and I
signed up for the dentistry, thinking that it would all be there.
Orthodontics, which he said would take less than 2 years. It's been over 3 years, and I went overboard and had it removed just in time for college entrance (overseas university).
What's surprising is that they said I didn't need a retainer.
Haha. Oh, now that I think about it, I don't have a clue. They said I didn't need a retainer, so I didn't have to. Of course, I don't know anything, and I just kept it. I guess I don't need the device haha.
Oh my gosh, it's been two months since I got the braces haha. My open bite started again at an alarming rate. I
went to Korea during vacation and saw a doctor, and it all came back haha. At first, I actually pushed it in too much, so it was somewhat difficult. They said they had made it okay for me to come out or something haha. Oh my,
they told me to come back next year. When I think about it now, I guess I just wanted to hold out for a year when I had to get free repairs.
The bottom line is that now I have open bite again, and the 4 teeth extracted during correction also had empty spaces due to the recurrence of open bite. I
tried to re-correct, but now they say I only have two jaws haha. They say re-correction is not possible.
So everyone, go to the hospital, look into it carefully, and get it corrected. Let's trust and filter out the doctor who says you don't need a retainer.
