Facts that the Internet or places like this do not tell you about the surgery when you search for surgery
1) You can return to your daily life a week after surgery: This is really just a lie. Even for a week, I was a loaf of bread, and I couldn't even eat properly. It's actually been 2 months now, but I can't eat meat well. I couldn't even open my mouth properly, so I couldn't even dream of a hamburger. And I hate the feeling of a foreign body (especially in the front chin area). It feels like I'm wearing dentures for 365 days. And when I smile, the shape of my mouth is strange, so I like to laugh, but I cover my mouth and laugh.
2) Swelling: Even though it's been 2 months, there is swelling on the side of the lip (especially severe in the morning). And if you have the habit of sleeping on your side, it will be very difficult after surgery. They told me not to sleep on my side for at least 3 months because cheekbone surgery puts pressure on my cheekbones.
3) Nervousness: First of all, I can't eat well, and I get irritated because of the foreign body sensation. Imagine living with dentures for the rest of your life. I can't eat meat, I can't eat what I want even though I'm hungry. this is really very hard It's been 2 months and still the same.
4) For one thing, you can think of living as an ugly dog for a month or two after contour surgery. My face shape is a bit clumsy, I can't eat as much as I want, and I can't exercise properly (I'm a gym maniac).

An acquaintance did it here and it went well, so I just made a reservation without looking for another hospital.
I am a US resident, so I consulted with the manager (?) only via KakaoTalk and entered the country with a deposit on the date of surgery.
Once you look at it from the perspective of the result, the change is obvious. This is because my cheekbones and blind spots were very developed before the surgery, and after taking the city photo, the chin side nerve line was up, so the range that can be resected is wide. I think it's because I have good conditions for surgery.
If I had to do it again: never. It's so hard, it costs money, and I want to buy it and go through all these hardships. no matter how good the results are.
Some of the things I didn't understand as a Korean-American:
It was actually strange to consult with a non-medical person, not a doctor. In the case of the United States, it is against the law to consult with a non-medical person, no matter how small the surgery. Actually, the doctor who operated on me was very kind, but I don't think he consulted for even 5 minutes. Even when talking to other hospital officials, it was uncomfortable that I was teased because of my face shape, maybe because I was F-type in MBTI. Signed on 20 pages asking for an autograph before surgery, and side effects guide (in the US, it is natural to do all of these things).
On the day of surgery - I go up to the operating room the day after arrival, and in the case of the US, I will first introduce myself (I am an anesthesiologist and will proceed with anesthesia from now on), but the anesthesiologist will just go into anesthesia without an introduction. And the housekeeper was nowhere to be seen.
The hospitalization room after surgery was a bit flimsy, and I had never felt such kindness before. It was this feeling of doing only what was necessary (blood drawing, etc.), saying only what was necessary, and drawing a line. Post-surgery post-management paper slip and thank you. It's good to eat pumpkin juice, there was nothing like that.
Surrogate surgery in Korea, there were many issues like this, especially in large hospitals. I really don't understand this either. Korea is especially known worldwide for K-pop, but when you look at Korea, which is number one in many ways these days, in this respect, I feel like I'm really falling behind. It's sad. I can't even imagine surrogate surgery in a foreign country. If you do, go straight to the cell. Doctor license revoked.
It's a long story, but anyway, contour surgery is a very big surgery, and you can think about it carefully before doing it and go through hardships for at least 2-3 months.
