I am posting it here in the hope that my memories will help others.
20/1/20 Surgery
I was so afraid of surgery.. Well, I am a very fearful person. I was more nervous about the surgery day than the day I went to the military.
When I got to the hospital, I thought about canceling it a lot.
I'm a man and I'm in my late twenties. How can I do something like this to enjoy wealth and fame? At that moment, I felt a lot of shame about the surgery. The fear was too great.
At 1:30, I was put into
the anesthesia room and administered general anesthesia. Anesthetic gas came out from the mask. The gas was slightly spicy, so I kept coughing
and became dizzy. I fell asleep and woke up, and the surgery was over.
I came to my senses and was tied up with restraints, but when I asked to be released, the anesthesiologist said. Please let me go.. I was told that I would have to stay here for a while. The time I spent in the recovery room was very difficult due to the beeping sounds of the machines. My
first regret after the surgery came to me.. The bed was narrow, only the ceiling was visible, my shoulders were folded, and my back was very stiff.
When I came to the hospital room, At 5:30, there was a blood hose connected to
my mouth. I didn't even have time to look at my face in the mirror. I immediately started applying cold compresses to my face. I touched
my chin and mouth with my hands. Fortunately, I could feel it. I couldn't touch the part where my square jaw was. It was swollen and soft. If I touched it incorrectly, It felt like it was going to explode, so I finally touched it, but when I touched it, it made a foamy sound. I
met the doctor and heard about the surgery. I felt like I was in my bones.
He said the surgery went well. He said it was cleaned and disinfected.
Once the surgery was over, my throat was very sore. It stung even more when I swallowed. It was like I had the flu. From the day of surgery until the next morning. I can't drink water ㅠㅠ My throat hurts so much ㅠㅠ
I'm sleepy, but I can't sleep. I have to stay until midnight.
The reason is that the anesthetic gas has to be taken out of my lungs.
My chin is hot and itchy. I feel like I have a cavity.
So I've been given anesthetics and antibiotics several times. They will give me the fluid when the time comes. In the middle of the day,
I set up the bed and dozed off while sitting down, but I couldn't close my mouth because of my blood hose, so when the drool dripped, I wiped it and dozed off again. When it drooled, I wiped it, held on until 12 o'clock at night,
and fell asleep. But I had a sore throat and kept waking up, probably because I was sitting down, but I went
to the hospital at 9:30 a.m. on
the 2nd day on 20/1/21.
I started.
I took off the hose. It didn't hurt. I felt refreshed. I was
discharged after hearing various explanations.
Arrived home. I was sleepy all day, but I tried to sleep at night.
I took a cool shower, blew my nose, spit, and was done.
I drank a protein shake,
drank pumpkin juice given to me by the hospital, and had
pumpkin porridge made by my mom. I drank
black bean and soy milk and
sat down. I kept looking up hospital reviews. I
felt like I had to keep applying cold compresses or my jaw would hurt.
Then, my jaw suddenly got hot and sore, so I kept holding
on while applying cold compresses . My back and neck hurt from sitting still, but I still sleep sitting down to minimize swelling. I never lie down.
At night, around 22:00, I take a walk for about an hour. Even though
I have been exercising regularly for several years, it has been a long time since I went for a walk. It was a really new experience.
I went out wearing a mask, a hat, and a padded hat like this
. I didn't want people to see my face.
After returning home, I washed, dried, and put on an ice pack.
My throat is still very sore.. It doesn't hurt when I spit out bloody phlegm, but it seems like my throat hurts because of this phlegm.. I keep a tissue next to me and spit it out from time to time..
The next day is the third day, and the swelling is the worst. It was a bad day..
I am planning to sleep after watching Crash Landing on You, hoping that there will be no swelling. I will sleep sitting up again today.
20/1/22
I woke up on the 3rd day and my face was even more swollen
. They say the swelling was the worst on the 3rd day after the surgery.. so much. It's severe... the phlegm and blood mixed in with the runny nose keep coming out. My throat still hurts a bit because of this.
I'm getting better with cold packs and the cravings.
