I will share the things I was curious about before the surgery after the actual surgery experience.
The surgery time was 2pm.
Under the guidance of the director, I changed into surgical clothes, took pre-surgery photos, and went straight to the consultation with the director.
The director's consultation lasted about 20 to 30 minutes, and
he explained the surgical method and effects in detail through CT photos, and made me understand why it was definitely safer than other cheekbone surgeries.
The skin above the sideburns and 45-degree cheekbones is finely incised by about 3mm, and the 45-degree cheekbone and
the side cheekbone are completely cut out. The cut is made using special surgical equipment. The cut bone is
pushed inward (internal movement), and the bone surrounding the bone is removed. It is said to be a method that allows non-fixed fusion without
damaging the muscle membrane
and inserting foreign substances.
He said that the post-surgery effect is not completely dramatic, so you
should not have high expectations and think that you will look like a different person after the surgery. He also said that there is no need to worry as it just neatly straightens out the curved cheekbones and
does not create an unnaturally flat outline.
After consulting with the director, I went to the operating room and lay down on the operating table with a trembling heart.
After the anesthetic injection test and disinfection, they drew a picture on my face with a pen. I
was more nervous because it seemed like the time took longer than I expected.
The surgery was under anesthesia, and I don't remember at what point I fell asleep.
It was around 4:20 when I woke up in the recovery room, and my guardian came to pick me up and I was discharged at 5.
On the day of surgery, I was lying down at home unable to do anything.
It was a bit difficult to breathe due to the compression bandage, and I could barely fit a finger into my mouth.
I was very hungry in the evening, but the only thing I could eat was soy milk, so it was very difficult, and
I realized that soy milk is a food that doesn't fill my stomach. Haha,
I couldn't brush my teeth because it didn't come with a toothbrush, so I gargled on the second day.
I heard that the bandage could be removed on the second day after surgery, so I thought it was the day after surgery and
tried to take the bandage off right away, but if I had surgery on Thursday, Saturday was the second day. ㅠ
I really wanted to take the bandage off, but I held on and ate cream soup at home.
For dinner, I ate rice porridge with a little soy sauce. I really wanted to eat kimchi.
Two days after the surgery, I finally took off the bandages and went to the Hangang Park near my house wearing a mask.
On this day, I bought cup soup and scoopable yogurt at the Han River convenience store. Haha.
The swelling was worse after the bandage was taken off than the two days I had the bandage on, and luckily there were no bruises.
After the bandage was removed, my mouth opened to fit about two fingers, and speaking became much easier and I was able to brush my teeth.
Because I have been a model since I was young, I was more confident in dieting than anyone else and it
was something I had always done, so I never thought it was particularly difficult, but
I had no idea how difficult it was to not be able to chew food. When I was on a diet, I still ate protein such as
chicken breast, bananas and eggs, but
it was difficult because I couldn't chew it and I had to look for drinks.
Now on the 5th day, I can see that my cheekbones have definitely shrunk, and the before and after are different from before the surgery, but I
was worried because the sideburns were sticking out a little when I touched them. I asked the hospital, and they said
there may be a lot of swelling for a week after the surgery, so I decided to wait and see. I did.
Although my face isn't noticeably swollen, it still feels like it's tightly packed when I touch it.
I've been using ice packs every day, and I've heard that it's good to alternate between heat packs, so starting today,
I think I should focus more on reducing the swelling by applying heat packs and ice packs to the lumpy areas of my side cheekbones. Haha.
Two days later, I'm going to the hospital to have the stitches removed and get swelling managed. I'll be watching the progress and adding reviews along the way. I'll do it.
