Here, I got a lot of information, so I’m going to leave a review.
I had the surgery on Tuesday. I’m a man, so I got it for the female price + 50.
First of all, ㅁㅇㅁㄷㄱ’s cheekbone surgery method is a bit unusual.
It’s not an intraoral incision or a scalp incision, but a sideburn incision + a 45-degree wide-angle incision.
The peeling range is significantly less than other surgeries, so there’s no need to worry about sagging cheeks
. Since the peeling range is less, it has to be performed non-fixed,
so you have to be careful about nonunion. Some of you may be wondering, “Why don’t other hospitals use this method?” First, the field of vision is not as good as an intraoral incision, so the difficulty level of the surgery is high. Second, since the cheekbone is not removed but rather pushed in, those with a severe 45-degree wide-angle may not get the best results. Third, since a 3mm incision is made in the cheekbone area, a scar is bound to remain. (However, scars do disappear over time, but the perception of making an incision in the face is a bit strange..)
When performing surgery at a university hospital for cheekbone fractures, there are various surgical methods, such as an intraoral incision, an external incision, or an incision under the eye conjunctiva. The reason why most cheekbone surgeries performed locally are intraoral incisions is probably because the surgical method is relatively easy, the field of vision is good, the risk of nerve damage is low, and there are no visible scars.
As I heard, the recovery speed is really fast. It's the second day, and there's almost no swelling or bruising, and there's almost no pain. (Bruising and swelling vary from person to person, so just keep that in mind. For reference, when I had square jaw surgery, the bruising and swelling were no joke.)
The hospital told me to remove the bandage that they gave me 48 hours after the surgery. I think it'll be okay to go out after removing the bandage and wearing a mask.
I'm still wearing braces so I'm not sure how much my cheekbones have gone in, but I'm satisfied for now. When I had square jaw surgery through an intraoral incision, it was really difficult for two weeks. Compared to that, it's much more comfortable now since I just have to be careful about what I eat.
In terms of effectiveness, I'll write again after the swelling goes down and the bandage is removed. I hope this helps many of you! If you have any questions, please leave a comment and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge!
