Hello. I had surgery at Sures Plastic Surgery last November, and it's been about a year since then, so I'm writing a review~
1. Why I chose Sures
I actually didn't have any complexes about my eyes, nose, chin, or any part of my face.
To be exact, when I looked at my face, I thought, "Hmm... I'm not that handsome, but I don't know what the problem is;;" I
vaguely thought, "Would my eyes look better?" and visited two or three other places, but
they only consulted on the areas I mentioned and didn't look at other areas, so I wasn't very satisfied with the consultation.
I wanted to hear an expert's opinion on "What's wrong with my face? So, what should I do to fix it?", so I
decided to consult with Director Park Jun-gyu after reading a few blog posts related to face shapes.
When I first visited, I said, "I wrote that I came because of my eyes, but honestly, I don't know what the problem is."
Then, the director looked closely at my face and explained several problems.
He told me that my cheekbones look big because of my low cheekbones, that my chin is a bit small for a man, and that my eyes are different on both sides.
When I asked, "What about a nose or fat repositioning under the eyes?" he said, "My nose is not that low. Fat repositioning under the eyes is not recommended either." He also told me that things like that are not possible.
During the consultation, he pointed out the overall problems and told me what he would/would not recommend from a professional perspective, so I was able to choose a place to get the surgery ^^
2. Pre-surgery examination
I was scheduled to get the surgery about a month later, and I had to get a pre-surgery examination during that time.
There was a hospital nearby that was affiliated with Sures, so if I got the examination there, the examination data would be automatically transferred to Sures, so I didn't have to go to Gangnam twice, which was convenient~
I think I had a blood test, urine test, and electrocardiogram test, and I think the cost was around 60,000-70,000 won. (It was a year ago, so I don't remember exactly, but it wasn't a lot ^^)
3. Surgery day
I visited the hospital on time on the day of the surgery. After changing clothes and waiting in the consultation room, all sorts of thoughts came to mind..
What if I don't wake up after general anesthesia?.. Will I be able to go home safely today? ㅋㅋ
About 20 minutes later, the director came in and gave me one last consultation.
He designed the surgical line by marking the surgical site on my face with a pen.
He paid special attention to the design of my eyes because even a 1mm difference can make it look weird.
I don't remember much after I laid down on the operating table. All I could think was, "Oh, the operating room is cold.", "What if the anesthesia wears off and it hurts? ㅠㅠ."
The anesthesiologist injected me with some medicine and I fell asleep right away.
When I woke up after a short sleep, the surgery was over and I was lying in the recovery room.
At first, the surgical site, especially the inside of my mouth, hurt so much, and I felt a little nauseous because the anesthesia hadn't worn off yet, and I wanted to keep sleeping.
The nurse kept telling me to stay awake because the anesthesia wouldn't wear off any more if I fell asleep. ㅋㅋ I was so sleepy.
After about 2-3 hours, I came out of the recovery room and took a taxi home alone.
When I got home, I came to my senses a bit. The area where the surgery was done was sore and my mouth hurt whenever I moved it ㅠㅠ
I thought to myself that this surgery was really big ㅠㅠ
My mouth hurt so much that I just changed my clothes and didn't eat anything and went to bed early.
4. Day 1
The next morning, I woke up and the soreness was much less. Maybe because
the surgery was done inside my mouth, I felt some pain whenever I moved my lips ㅠㅠ It was fine when I was still, but it hurt a lot when I gargled or moved my lips when I ate.
They said that cold compresses were important until the second day, so I used all the ice packs they gave me and the ice packs I had in the fridge when I had it delivered before ㅋㅋ I kept applying ice packs~
They told me to wear them 4 times a day because they were tight(?), but the pressure on my face was so bad at first that I could only do them for 10-20 minutes.
My lips were sore and I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough to eat porridge, so I ordered drinkable food and ate it~!
(But I got hungry so quickly that I think I ate about 8 packs a day ㅋㅋ)
5. On the second day,
the pain when I was still was much less than on the first day. However, it still hurt when I moved my mouth, so I only ate drinkable food.
Bruises started to show on my face. My cheekbones and such were fine, but bruises appeared on my eyebrow area where I had eyebrow lifting surgery and on my neck.. I
wondered what would happen if the bruises didn’t go away because there were so many bluish bruises.
My energy had recovered a lot and I was able to go for a short walk outside.
I wanted to wash my hair, but I had to tilt my head back to wash my hair because the water shouldn't touch the area where I raised my eyebrows.
Since I live alone, I couldn't find anyone to help me, so I ended up going to a nearby hair salon that I often went to and asked them to do it for me.
(I didn't want to go too often, so I went once every two days to wash my hair.)
I just used blotting paper to remove some of the oil from my face and didn't wash my face for a week. ㅠㅠㅋㅋ
6. Days 3-5
By the third day, the sharp pain when I was still had gone away a lot. It still hurt when I moved my lips a lot or gargled. Even
though I used ice packs a lot, the swelling was so bad that my eyelids, cheeks, and lips were so swollen
. Even now, when I look at the pictures I took at that time, it's like... ^^;;
From the fourth day, I was able to eat porridge. But I couldn't open my mouth wide, so I would shove food in my mouth with a teaspoon.
Drinking food was much simpler, so I often drank a drinkable product when I got hungry.
The swelling peaked on the third day and then gradually decreased. (It definitely doesn't go down quickly.. ㅠㅠ)
I wore a mask and went for a walk for 2-3 hours a day to help the swelling go down quickly!
7. After a week on the 6th and 7th,
I went to the hospital to get it disinfected.
Since I've been doing pull-ups consistently, the swelling wasn't that bad, and they said I didn't need to get a swelling injection~
Instead, they pulled my lips when they disinfected them, lol. It hurt so, so much.
I think I could barely open my mouth with one finger.
My left jaw and upper teeth felt numb.. They said the sensation would gradually return, so I decided to wait!
8. 1-2 weeks
I'm an office worker, so I had to use up a week of vacation and go to work starting from the first week.
Before going to work, I was worried that people would recognize me for the surgery, but women recognized me, but men didn't. lol.
Most people didn't recognize me when I was wearing a mask, and when I took it off, they asked, "Oh my, why is your face so swollen? Where did you get hurt?" He said that.
In fact, I was more concerned about the bruises that were visible than the swelling ㅠㅠ
In particular, the bruise on my eye had extended down to my lower eyelid like a dark circle.
Fortunately, by this time the bruise had changed from slightly blue to yellow, so it wasn’t as noticeable as on the 3rd to 5th day~ Since
I still couldn’t open my mouth well.. I ordered porridge separately and ate it. (It felt like death trying to eat porridge for three meals(?).. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
After about 10 days, the swelling went down a lot and the bruise, although not completely, was a lot less yellow, so that was fortunate. In the
2nd week, I went to get my stitches taken out. After they took the stitches out, I felt like I could live without hurting my lips anymore..
That’s when I realized how precious it is to be able to brush my teeth thoroughly.
9. 1~2 months
After about a month, the major swelling had gone down a lot.
People I see every day at work don't really notice the changes, but
people I haven't seen in a long time ask me things like, "Why did you lose so much weight?", "Your chin looks so sharp?", and "Your eyes look twice as big. Did you get double eyelid surgery?"
I felt like the numbness in my chin was gradually returning, although not much.
My mouth was also opening more and more, so I could open two fingers.
10. 3~6 months
The numbness in my left chin almost completely returned, but the sensation in my upper left teeth didn't completely return.. I feel like I can't feel it when I floss?
The biggest problem during this period was that the scar where I got my eyebrow lift ㅠㅠ was red and really noticeable.
I wanted to cover it up with an eyebrow tattoo, but they said I could only do it after about a year, so I had no choice but to hold out.
A nearby beauty salon lady said that she got it too, and that it would be hidden if I applied concealer, so I even got a product recommendation and applied it on important days.
11. 6 months~1 year
After about 6 months, my mouth finally opened as much as it should. About 4 fingers wide..
I was glad that there was no sagging cheeks or anything like what I saw in other reviews.
There were a lot of scary reviews saying that I had to live with lifting, so I was worried, but fortunately that wasn't the case.
The scar where I had my eyebrow lift turned into a thin white line, and it was much less noticeable.
Before, everyone I saw asked me things like, "Did you get your eyebrows tattooed?" or "Did you get something hurt in your eyes?" and that was a bit stressful, but now I'm so happy that I don't have that anymore.
12. 1-year review
Last month, a year passed and I looked at my old and new pictures.. Wow, is that me? My face has changed so much.
Honestly, I can't say where exactly has changed, but my mouth corners have lifted and my face has become more lively?
I think that's the good thing about the cheekbone and chin surgery. Other people have no idea what I did. Haha. I feel like I've become more handsome in a subtle way.
I had dark circles under my eyes, but as the volume of this area was filled in, my tired look was also greatly reduced~!
The best thing about eyebrow lifting surgery is that it doesn't have the artificial feeling of double eyelid surgery, but rather makes my eyes look a little bigger than they were originally.
However, since there is a scar under my eyebrow, I hope that only those who cover it up with makeup or don't care much about their scars can get it done!!
