 My eyes were originally wide, so people around me absolutely told me not to get it done. So I thought about it for a few years and finally I got it done because I really wanted it. LOL
Things I worried about before getting the surgery
:
1. My eyes were not small to begin with, so wouldn't it be burdensome if I got the lower eyelid surgery?
2. What if I look like a triple eye with the increase in the whites of my eyes
?
3. What if it's so obvious that anyone would think I had a double eyelid surgery? But what if I got it done naturally and no one would be able to tell the difference before and after the surgery?
But because I had so many thoughts, I figured I'd just get the surgery, so I picked three places with my bare hands, looked at the review photos, and decided on the one that I liked the most.
Since I live in the countryside, I only went up for a consultation. Since it was a hassle to go back down, I didn't go in for an in-person consultation, but instead sent a picture of my face via text message and told them what surgery I wanted and got a rough estimate.
After setting a surgery date and going there on time, they showed me to a private room and told me to change into my clothes.
They told me to change into my clothes and wait, but I waited for an hour;;; I was so tired that
I fell asleep, but when I opened my eyes, an hour had passed. There was no surgery ahead of me, and the conversation with the consulting client was long, so I was a little annoyed, but I slept well for a long time, so I became more tolerant. I
had a brief consultation with the head of the consultation room and another brief consultation with the director. I just slightly lowered the corner of my eye with a cotton swab and said, “This is what I’m going to do~” and that was it.
Since I had already decided to have the surgery without an in-person consultation, maybe because there was no detailed explanation, I was anxious.
After the consultation, I went to pay, and I think they clearly said that VAT was included on the phone (there was no mention of VAT being separate). When they said that the VAT cost was included, I asked and they said that there was no VAT if I paid in cash.
I had a feeling that I would never visit this hospital again.
After paying, I went back to the hospital room and waited.
The surgery
was done under general anesthesia, and local anesthesia was applied around my eyes. They woke me up from the general anesthesia and performed the surgery
while I was still conscious. They kept telling me to open my eyes, but I couldn’t open them well.
It felt like my eyeballs were being pulled, there was a burning smell, and it was an unfamiliar pain that I had never felt before, so it was so scary and painful (of course, the anesthesia was on..)
Ugh..!! Ugh!! This sound came out on its own ㅋㅋㅋㅋ The nurse told me not to make any noise ㅠㅠ
I was under general anesthesia for about 30 minutes? After waking up from sleep, the surgery took about 30 minutes as well.
After the surgery, I was so dizzy and couldn't open my eyes well when I went into the room.
They pressed my eye really hard and when I took my eyes off, it was blurry and I couldn't see well. I
had been fasting for so long that I was hungry and dizzy, but I just got up, changed my clothes, and went out to eat right away.
It wasn't that burdensome of a surgery, and my visual condition on the day of the surgery wasn't so bad that I needed sunglasses. Phew...
The end of the surgery review
. The answer to number 1
of my worries
is: It's not burdensome at all. In fact, the shape of my eyes has become prettier.
The answer to number 2 is: My eyes don't look that 300 degrees Celsius, but before the surgery, when I wore large-diameter contact lenses, they definitely felt like dog's eyes, but they disappeared after the surgery
. The answer to number 3 is: I proceeded with the surgery as I had wanted, sleeping(?). Before the swelling went down, I thought I overcorrected too much... but
once the swelling went down and settled in, it turned out just right. I think the answer is to just leave it to a doctor who has done a lot of surgeries. I'm very satisfied with the surgery. The downtime was shorter than I thought!
