 In 2020, I had natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty, and it had been less than 3 years since it was almost completely resolved, so I had to have a second surgery after much thought. I should have known what kind of eye condition/what style would suit me and whether I had a lot or little fat layer before I had the surgery, but I think it was a mistake to have my friend do it at a place that was good. So this time, I decided after going on a hospital tour with solid criteria. The solid criteria were
1. Not a factory-style hospital (even better if it was a single-person hospital) 2. Recommending
only necessary surgeries 3. Of course, a plastic surgery specialist + having been in the hospital for more than 10 years

I went to several places starting from Sinsa-dong, and it felt like they were all the same + I was exhausted… This was my fifth hospital. It was hard for me to judge for myself whether the photo I brought would suit my face well or not (because I had pretty eyes), but as soon as I sat down, the director looked at my forehead, face shape, nose, and mouth and recommended a line that would suit me. I looked around several places and there was no place that had an impact, but I thought, "Why not come here first?"
Some hospitals also recommended or required eye correction, but no matter how much I thought about it, I thought it would be better not to have eye correction for my face (in fact, if you look at the post-surgery photos, the pupils are visible just from the incisions). The director here said that eye correction was not necessary, so I came out with about 80% confidence. The price wasn't the most expensive, but it was still a little expensive? However, after failing once, I started to lean more toward the idea that I shouldn't skimp on money when it comes to touching my face.
I also liked that there was no reservation fee required at the desk. Other plastic surgery clinics would give me a refund at any time if I paid 100,000 won, but I trusted the director more because he told me to think carefully and tell him that the reservation fee was non-refundable.
I brought photos of the areas I wanted to improve on the day of the surgery and told him, so we compromised and came up with a line. Now that I think about it, if I had pushed ahead with the photo I took, I would have had a gorgeous double eyelid with a gorgeous line on an Asian face, but thanks to that, I think it turned out naturally.
Also, the other thing that bothered me was that they use general anesthesia. During my first surgery, I was so dizzy from the anesthesia that I was out of my mind and was dying, but they kept telling me to open my eyes and close them… But I wasn’t even sure if I could open my eyes properly or not… That’s why I really liked that they only used partial anesthesia.
In fact, during the surgery, I was able to control my strength when I closed and opened my eyes (the director asked me in detail to open my eyes wider/open them with force, etc.), and thanks to that, despite the incision + re-surgery, the swelling went down in 3 weeks and I was able to go back to my social life. My coworker even asked me if I had good skin tone because she said it was the first time she had seen such low swelling after an incision double eyelid surgery. Haha… It was less swollen than my first natural adhesion and the swelling went down faster, so it seems like it was not because of my natural skin tone but because I didn’t use general anesthesia. Now, after a little over a month, the swelling is almost completely gone, except for the bruising! I had a lot of worries because of the various schedules after the surgery, but if I had known that the swelling would be this small/go down this quickly, I wish I had just gone ahead and done it.
