Those who had surgery far from home... Where do you get the dressing?

I had surgery today... But they told me to come to disinfect... About an hour and a half from home to the surgery place? It's not the place where the surgery was performed, but can't I do dressing at another plastic surgery clinic or a nearby general hospital?
