I am a woman in my 60s living in Daejeon. 25 years ago, I gave birth to my second child alone at a hospital. After the surgery, my breasts swelled like balloons, and I have been living with excessively large breasts and discomfort. My children are all grown up and going to college and graduate school, and after moving my son’s dormitory and organizing, my spine hurt so much that I couldn’t sleep. The next day, I couldn’t sleep either. I had back pain before, but it wasn’t this bad, so I went to an orthopedic surgeon after coming home. I was worried that if there was a problem with my spine, it would be serious and I would be a burden to my children in their old age. The orthopedic surgeon said there was nothing wrong, and when I asked if this kind of pain could occur if my breasts were large for a long time, he said it could. I made an appointment for plastic surgery the next day. This is the pain I have been suffering for 25 years since giving birth to my second child. I went to **** Hospital near Galleria, which is a very large hospital in Daejeon and has been in operation for a long time.
I consulted with a counselor
on March 7th
. I wanted to have the surgery quickly because my spine hurt because my breasts were drooping down from being large for a long time. I wanted small breasts because I suffered from large breasts. I wanted them to be as small as possible. I showed them pictures of people who had surgery. Some people said that no matter how much they wanted, they could only get surgery up to a C cup. I asked if I could get surgery for a B cup, and they said it was possible. I said I wanted a B cup. When I asked when I wanted the surgery, I said the sooner the better, and that I would do it tomorrow if possible. After the counselor left for a moment, he said that the surgery was possible, and he came back with things to prepare for the surgery tomorrow, explained the preparations for the surgery, and left the hospital. He told me to come the next day for the surgery.
On the day of the surgery
, March 8th,
the doctor in charge came saying that he needed to design it. It was my first time meeting the doctor that day, and he didn’t say anything about the condition or size of my breasts. He said that he would draw a line on my chest with something like a magic wand and proceed with the surgery. My husband was by my side. The surgery began without any explanation about before and after the surgery. I wanted to ask, but the doctor’s expression didn’t look that good, so I thought that he had already explained everything to the counselor. The counselor said that she was the best at breast surgery in Daejeon, so I thought she would take care of it since we communicated well.
After the surgery, I came home and no matter how much I thought about it, I couldn't get a B cup. I couldn't understand why the bra I wore before the surgery would fit after the surgery, so I went to see the doctor. The doctor didn't mention breast size, but just kept talking for about 30 minutes about how it would be easier to move around if my breasts were higher. I didn't understand why she was talking about this, but when I asked if I could get a B cup, the doctor said that I could get liposuction and adjust my diet, so I went back. She
said that I would get liposuction after that. The nurse who treated the wound also said that I would get liposuction in two months. Even if I got liposuction, no matter how much I thought about it, I didn't think I could get a B cup, but I decided to wait because I still had a follow-up surgery.
After that, I kept going to the hospital to get the wound treated, and on April 11, I got a call from the hospital. The doctor said that he was sick and couldn't treat me, so he didn't know when he would come back, so I shouldn't call until he came back. It was an absurd call, so I asked if I should wait a year since no one knows when I will return, and I got angry and said, “What should I do if I am sick?” And the doctor in charge said he would definitely take responsibility. He told me to make a promise so that I could record it. There is a recording, so
I thought it was strange. If I was sick enough to quit the hospital, it could be a fatal illness, so I was worried about what would happen to my treatment after that. When I called on May 11, the doctor said he had quit. (There is a recording.)
The doctor was already supposed to quit at the time of the surgery, but no one told me, and I thought he had lied to me about being sick. In this situation, I was so angry and shocked at the hospital’s behavior of deceiving patients and only taking money without taking responsibility. My husband and I went to the hospital right away to complain. When I talked to the person who had consulted with me, the counselor asked if I had consulted with the doctor. The counselor never guided me to the doctor or made me meet with him, and I didn’t even know where he was, so how could I meet the doctor? The hospital is a very large hospital with three floors. At this time, a woman interrupted the conversation with the counselor. She hit me on the back of my hand and told me not to interfere, but she said she was the director and reported me to the police for assaulting her. It seemed like she was threatening me. The police came, but they didn’t check the CCTV and instead threatened me, saying that it would be obstruction of business. I told the director to come to the police station if I wanted to report it later, but the director didn’t do anything on his own. After the police left, I talked to the director and recorded it. It was by mutual agreement.
He said that he was going to open a new practice and asked me to wait until then. He also said that the hospital was run by several doctors, but that the doctors weren’t on good terms. So he said that he was going to quit the hospital and open a practice in the fall or winter. He said that he would do it in the Yuseong area. He also said that if he opened a practice under the same name as ****, the doctor in charge would definitely do the second surgery and that **** Hospital would take responsibility. In the end, as we talked, I found out that the doctor quit not because he was sick, but because the doctors were on bad terms. He said that if there were any problems in the future, I could sue this hospital. (Recording included)
I started to distrust the hospital's words. I couldn't believe that he quit the hospital because he was sick, and that he opened a plastic surgery clinic in Yooseong from Daejeon. Most plastic surgery clinics are located around Galleria. Yooseong is not an area where you can open a plastic surgery clinic.
Later, I found out that the doctor in charge was still working at ****. He was still working, but he was not taking any action and was just avoiding responsibility.
I called him and asked what was going on and how he could open a practice when he was listed as working. He confidently said that what was important was that he could quickly remove his name. If you don’t believe me, I told him to come and see if he was still treating patients and look at the promotional materials. When I asked him when he would open, he said he didn’t know. And he said he would open in the winter or spring. (Sayings changed)
And he said that if the doctor in charge was still working, wouldn’t it be better to get insurance? (There is a recording.)
In other words, since the hospital would just pay the insurance money in the event of a lawsuit, I assumed that he kept putting it off because there was nothing to regret, and it seemed like he
was telling me to go ahead and file a lawsuit. Now, I can’t be sure that the doctor in charge is opening a new practice, I can’t believe anything he says, and I’m the victim of a fight between doctors. And the hospital is pretending not to know. I haven’t had any contact with the doctor in charge since the surgery.
When I contacted the medical dispute center, they said there was a department in charge at the public health center, so I consulted with them, and the counselor called the hospital and then contacted me again. The hospital said that I was in a difficult situation and that I should continue receiving treatment at the hospital, and that it would be bad to bother the hospital. The public health center representative said that the hospital would give me some kind of answer, but I didn't get any answer.
I'm still wearing an E-cup bra. Before the surgery, it was a full E-cup, but now it's a roomy E-cup, but it's completely different from what I promised during the surgery, and I can't even get a second surgery that I should have. It's unbelievable that I'm wearing the same bra as before the surgery.
After suffering for a long time and spending a lot of money for the surgery, why should I be the victim of the doctors' fight? Why is the hospital so brazen and shameless?
Because of this, I'm currently receiving psychiatric treatment, and the test results came out that my condition is serious.
Is it the rule that plastic surgeons are kind enough to give me my liver, but then suddenly change and act so inconsiderately when I make a mistake?
If you want the name of the hospital, please send me a message. I heard that this hospital had many serious problems before.
