<수술 전><수술 전><수술 전><수술 후><수술 후><수술 후><수술 후>I had a nose surgery that I had been worrying about for 6-7 years due to concerns about side effects. Since I got a lot of information from Seongyesa, I'm writing a review too!
I have really severe facial asymmetry, a crooked nose, and rhinitis, and I also have a hooked beak. In the past, I had a semi-permanent filler called Artefill (it's called a cat filler, so if you're worried about it, don't get it. If you're thinking about nose surgery, I'd never get any other filler treatment or thread insertion). It was a very difficult case, even though it was my first surgery.
So, I looked into the hospital more carefully. After searching through various apps, sites, and searches, I received consultations from 4 places and made an appointment for surgery. First, when deciding which hospital to consult, I looked through most of the reviews and hospital recommendations posted on ㅂㅂㅌ or other cafes to filter out hospitals that I would not consult with (if you look at the reviews or hospital recommendation comments, there are so many brokers.....) Reviews with strong promotional implications for the hospital, such as selfie reviews and model reviews, were also referenced only for the purpose of selecting the hospital. Also, we did not initially consider large hospitals with the possibility of surrogate surgery or hospitals that did not specialize in rhinoplasty.
And since I decided to have surgery because I wanted to improve the shortcomings of my nose, I went for a consultation for non-implant surgery without silicone implants to minimize side effects, even though the aesthetics may be a bit disappointing. After receiving consultations at various hospitals, I was able to get an outline of the condition of my nose and which method of surgery to use. I was able to summarize my nose condition as follows.
- I have a crooked nose that is curved to the side, an hooked nose, and the nasal bone part is not wide and thin
(I heard that this is a case where the osteotomy needs to be carefully decided to prevent the nasal bone part from becoming too thin)
- The nasal septum is long and the cartilage is not soft, so it is recommended before rhinoplasty. Even though I have a pig's nose, I don't tend to have a pig's nose
(they say it's a characteristic of a long nose or an arrow nose)
- One nostril is large and asymmetrical, and because it's a dragon nose, my nostrils are raised
(I always paid attention to the curved nose and hooked nose, so my nostrils are small) (I didn't know at all that it was a mismatch before receiving the consultation)
- The tip of the nose is drooped, so the middle part of the nose looks longer
- I have a very severe septum deviation, the inferior nasal conchae on one side is very swollen, and there are signs of sinusitis.
In this way, I have some objective information about my nose. After finding out, I underwent surgery at Lievens ENT Clinic. The surgeries I underwent included
removal of the hooked beak through nasal opening, left osteotomy to correct the crooked nose, cartilage relocation + cartilage tying + nasal septum cartilage transplant to raise the tip of the nose, and septal deviation + inferior turbinate + nasal valve surgery to improve rhinitis
. Usually, when an open nose is opened, the chance of having the side effect of drooping the tip of the nose increases, so septum lengthening surgery is often performed at the same time. However, because I did not want the tip of the nose to be fixed or the structure of the nose to be significantly damaged, I chose a hospital specializing in closed rhinoplasty (non-open rhinoplasty). It is said that open surgery does not cut the columella artery, so the tip of the nose does not droop well.) Also, for clearer design and communication, I showed the director a photo of my nose edited with Photoshop before the surgery. So, the expected results from this surgery were as follows.
- Removal of hooked nose, improvement of part of the crooked nose, due to the nature of non-implants, the bridge of the nose may become slightly uneven
- As the tip of the nose rises, a semi-straight line appears
- As the tip of the nose is brought toward the center to correct the crooked nose, the asymmetry of the nostrils becomes more prominent. Can be seen
- Improved nasolabial angle compared to before
- Improved rhinitis
The surgery lasted about 2 and a half hours under local anesthesia, so I was able to undergo it with peace of mind without worrying about surrogate surgery or changes in the details of the surgery. Since I was awake during the surgery, the director said it in the middle of the surgery. He also checks the shape of the nose. (They say this is only possible when the surgery is done closed.)
And since the director only performs surgery on one patient a day, 3-4 times a week, you don’t have to worry about the director’s condition. , After surgery, it is easy to worry about small details, but for a week after surgery, the director personally checked the progress, disinfected, treated, and gave precautions every day, so I was able to really put my mind at ease as a patient. Also, because the surgery was done in an open manner, there was no columella scar, and even though the surgery was complicated, there was almost no swelling when the splint was removed a week later.
It's been about 3 months since I had the surgery, and it's so natural that no one will know I had the surgery unless I tell them first. In the past, my throat was dry and stuffy because I had to breathe through my mouth every time, but my breathing has become much easier.
It was a surgery that I thought about and researched for a long time and prepared diligently as if I were in charge of an important project at the company. No matter how cosmetic surgery is, it is a really big surgery in your life, so make sure you carefully consider each and every detail before undergoing the surgery. Take pictures of the surgical area from every angle before surgery, and be sure to fully understand the details of the surgery and the expected results of the surgery. Thinking that this was my first and last surgery, I made a checklist, organized the consultation information in Excel, decided on a hospital, and made an appointment for surgery. I felt from reading many reviews of side effects and reviews of changes in technique or implants during surgery that even if you are strict and meticulous in these areas, it is never too much. Well, I hope this review will be helpful to people like me who are considering surgery!
