Hello. I would like to write a review about functional rhinoplasty from the surgery to 7 days ago. (I was going to write earlier, but I am writing now due to personal reasons..) I was worried about my original nose shape, which was low and bulbous, so I wanted to change it even a little. Furthermore, I had severe rhinitis symptoms and had to take medicine, so I considered the functional aspect as well, and by chance, I looked into functional rhinoplasty that helps improve rhinitis as well as the aesthetic aspect. So I wanted to know more detailed information, and from then on, I started searching for hospitals I wanted through cafes and blogs. I heard that rhinoplasty has more reoperations than other parts and it is difficult to get satisfactory results, so it took a long time. Then, I came across a place called DA Plastic Surgery and looked up how safe the surgery is and what its reputation is. After looking it up, I found that many people go there and the reviews seemed good, so I decided to go there. However, I thought I might be dissatisfied when I actually went, so I made a reservation on May 21 and visited the hospital. Since I was going from the provinces to Seoul, I wrote down a lot of questions and asked them in detail, but the consultation was very satisfying, rather than dissatisfying. The hospital consultation room director was kind and answered many of my questions, which made me feel reassured. During the consultation with the director, he explained the problems and solutions of my nose condition, and explained the surgical process and the direction of improvement after the surgery in detail. At that time, he explained the surgical solution as improvement of rhinitis, nasal valve, and nasal septum, and the bridge and tip of the nose, external osteotomy, and flat nose correction. He said that he would put silicone in the bridge of the nose and make the tip of the nose the septum, but if it was not enough, he would use ear cartilage. During the consultation, he explained that the shape of the nose is important, but that it should be a natural shape that fits my face shape. After the consultation, I thought about whether or not to have the nose surgery for a long time, and decided to have the surgery. I visited the hospital on June 11 and got an allergy test. Then, I set the surgery date for June 16. On the day of the surgery, I took the morning bus and arrived at the hospital at 9:00, listened to all the explanations about the surgery, changed into surgical gowns, and had the surgery around 10:00. When I came to my senses after the surgery, it was already over and it was around 2:00 PM. After I got home, the anesthesia wore off and my daily life started to change. Day 1 - After returning home, the anesthesia wore off in the evening and I had pain in the tip of my nose and had to breathe only through my mouth, which was very uncomfortable. I endured it by taking antibiotics and painkillers prescribed by the hospital, but I woke up every two hours and spent the day with my eyes wide open. Also, my nasal mucus kept dripping down mixed with blood, so I always carried tissues with me. Day 2 - Just like Day 1, I had pain and ate porridge for food because I was dizzy. I usually like to wash frequently, but at this time, it was inconvenient to even wash my hair, so I just washed my face and brushed my teeth. At this time, the swelling increased overall and it was so bad that my family couldn't recognize me. Day 3 - June 18th, and the hospital removed the gauze in my nose and disinfected it. It was uncomfortable to breathe only through my mouth, but at this time, I was able to breathe a little through my nose. At this time, as if it were a lie, my sore throat subsided and I think I recovered enough to eat regular food. The blood mixed with mucus in my nose also improved a lot, to the point where it was dripping down little by little, but the swelling was still severe. Day 4 - I got used to this lifestyle to some extent and slept more while resting. Most people would nap, but unlike other people who take walks or drink pumpkin juice to reduce swelling, I chose to sleep because it was annoying. Day 5 - From this point on, the swelling on my face gradually went down to my cheeks and chin, and the pain also decreased. From this point on, I began to look forward to the fact that the stitches and splint would be removed soon and that it would be easy to wash. Day 6 - I could hardly sleep because I was excited about the possibility of having the stitches and splint removed tomorrow and seeing my nose. (Actually, it was because of the slight pain..) The swelling went down a lot and my runny nose almost stopped, so I was relieved that the surgery was somewhat successful. Day 7 - I think I laughed thinking that I was finally free in the car on the way to Seoul. After visiting the hospital, some of the stitches and the cast were removed, and the director said that the surgery went well and that the shape of my nose was well maintained during the check-up, so I thought that I had really held up well. The problem was that I had a lot of sebum on my nose. It happened because I didn't wash my face around my nose for a week after the surgery, and since I originally had a lot of sebum on my nose, I wasn't surprised. As time passed, I was able to breathe better, and most of all, I was so happy that I could sleep lying down (but they say that it's good to sleep looking at the ceiling for the first month..). I tried my best to write a review from the surgery to the 7th day. (I'm really bad at writing, but I guess it's a talent to be able to write this much..) At first, I thought about giving up because I was anxious about rhinoplasty and read a lot of articles about side effects, but I thought positively about resolving rhinitis, which had been a concern for a long time, and improving my appearance even a little. As time passed after the surgery, I thought that it was a good decision to do it, and my rhinitis actually improved a lot, and breathing through my nose became much easier than before. I thought that if I managed it well and received proper treatment, I could maintain it for a long time, even if I got older and had problems in 10, 20 years, or even in a few years. And the important thing is to find a doctor who really knows what you want and who can fit your needs. No matter how famous a hospital is, it is very important to find out if it is right for you. The reason I am satisfied with the surgery here is because the director explained the direction of the surgery and the improvement method in detail with sincerity. I was able to choose and get the surgery because he gave me a positive message more than anyone else. In this way, it is important to take your time with rhinoplasty and find a director who is a good fit for you. * As I am writing this, it is the third week since the surgery. The shape of my nose has settled naturally, and I am doing the massage that the hospital told me to do whenever I have time to reduce the swelling. My family and friends say that I have no idea that I had surgery, because my nose has become so natural and not flashy. It may be different for everyone, but it takes 3 to 6 months for the swelling in my nose to completely go down, so it really feels like a fight against time. I think it will get better as time passes and it settles down perfectly.
