It's been
over a year since I had the surgery, but the reason I'm writing a review now
is because, as I said before, I had a second surgery, and
since I wasn't more than 50% satisfied with my first surgery, I wanted to be more careful about the second surgery.
I thought it would take at least half a year to a year for me to confidently say that I liked it.
And like any plastic surgery,
I waited because I thought it was too hasty to say that I was satisfied after only a few weeks or months.
What I realized while going through the second surgery is that
1. You need to clearly know the nose design you want
= I'm not just talking about a flashy style or a natural style!
I think the biggest reason I failed the first time
was because I went in with the simple thought of "I need to make it moderately soft.
" Even if you divide it into natural-soft-fancy, the type of nose that the hospital thinks of and
the type of nose that I think of are bound to be different.
That's why the nose design you want after getting the surgery is bound to be different.
When I first got it done... I was like, please don't lower the tip of your nose, don't lower it... but
in the end, I was going to sleep. What the heck ㅋㅋ It looked so natural that I ended up getting it done again.
1. Nose design should be decided based on your own standards
= In order to increase satisfaction, you have no choice but to be picky about the design
. Don't compromise with the hospital on this one.
When I had my first attempt and realized that I like fancy noses,
when I was looking for a hospital to repeat my attempt, I looked for a place that was good at fancy nose bridge to tip surgery from the beginning.
Among them, there were some places that put the director's opinion before mine.
Well, I understand to some extent, but it's better to have a place that reflects my opinion as much as possible while
deciding on the design . I'd rather pass on places that force me to do whatever they say
with the mindset of "I'm the doctor!"
3. Getting a nose job is important, but aftercare is really important
= Just get your nose done! This is not it.
Please follow everything the hospital tells you to do.. abstain from drinking, smoking, stir-frying with a cotton swab in your nose, etc..
Rhinoplasty takes a long time, and it takes 6 months to a year for the swelling to go down and settle in.
It's not over just because you're careful for the first few months. Like me, you have to wait a year
. I think there's nothing more foolish than
saying you don't like it when you didn't take care
of yourself.. I asked the hospital I had surgery at in advance and received laser treatment for the swelling every time I went.
If there's any post-surgery care you can receive at the hospital,
I recommend that you receive it all without fail!!
4. Why I chose donated rib
= These days, costal cartilage is often used for the first time, and
to be honest, most revision surgeries use autologous rib.
I also worried about the type of rib while visiting several places,
but no matter how small the scar was, autologous rib was a bit burdensome for me.
When I visited, there were places that said, "You're lucky, so autologous rib is a must,"
but at least the place I had surgery at explained the pros and cons of each costal cartilage and
gave me the choice.
No matter how much of a reoperation it is (even if there are limitations on the choice of materials or surgical method..),
since you are paying for the surgery yourself, don't get discouraged after going to a consultation for no reason ㅋㅋ
State your requirements clearly and have the surgery with the nose material you want
, so you don't have stupid regrets later like "Oh, I should've just had it done with donated ribs..."!
As I started writing, it became too long,
but honestly, my recovery was much faster the second time I had the surgery
than the first time, so I regret not having done it here from the beginning.. ㅋㅋ
When you start your first surgery, you don't know the various options and you feel helpless, but
I'm writing this in hopes that even the average person will be successful from their first surgery!
